Tech nerd, generally prefers open-source software. Uses Fedora linux, only loads a windows install on a secondary SSD for a couple of applications that would not work on Linux.

Follow requests are on so I can vibe check you. Vibe checks were still performed before this change, however they were instead performed after you followed. Feel free to request a follow, but at least put something in your bio beforehand.

from Belgium is unsafe for CVD

Now imagine you are doing vulnerability research and you find a thousand systems with a specific vulnerability. One of these systems is owned by an organisation in Belgium. You don’t know in advance who the systems belong to. What do you need to do according to the CCB: [...]

hmm. if it has a zeroday that affects like. every single country on this voidforsaken planet. is it not allowed to go to belgium anymore because it breaks belgian laws by responsibly disclosing it

utter horseshit

Belgium is unsafe for CVD

This post is about the reason I will probably never try to warn any organisation in Belgium about any vulnerability again. Recently I have been dealing with an attempt at coordinated vulnerability disclosure (CVD) with an organisation in Belgium. This post is not about that, because I’m not allowed to write about it. This post explains why I believe Belgium is unsafe for people trying to do CVD. I believe it’s important to warn others so that they know what to expect and can decide for themselves.

Honestly a lot of the problems with British politics really comes down to the fact that Britons want Japanese levels of immigration, Scandinavian levels of public services, and US levels of taxes without compromising any of these

Petition: Legally enshrine the right of adults to physically transition using NHS services

Introduce a law to legally protect the right of those aged 18 and over to transition using NHS services. This should specifically cover physical transition, including hormone treatment and surgery, as otherwise I believe it could potentially be interpreted as including conversion therapy.

Love this new sign on the Clyde Walkway, but it definitely falls into the Keep Glasgow Weird category. It's one of a number of signs inspired by Science Fiction movies around the city's Science Centre created by A Sign of Humour.

@hummingbird I urge everyone reading this to go look up what baby beavers sound like, it's cartoonishly cute.

@hummingbird That's easy. They have sensory issues related to the sound of running water, and they're building accommodations to address the distress it causes. (not joking)

Or to put it another way, disabled folks just trying to make their world livable.

@masukomi This sounded wrong to me, and a cursory search only found sources saying they're actually built in order to create ponds which the beavers can use to avoid predators. I'm not really sure where you found anything about accommodating distress from the sound of running water, because I searched for that separately and found nothing.

But I love learning fun animal facts, so if you could point me in the direction of further reading I'd love to see it
@hummingbird
It's dangerous out there. Take this.
@hummingbird cause noise of water is painful. Don't know if that is true, but that's what at least a bunch of people wrote online for why these water rats are doing it.
