If you're working from home, please try if you can to leave out a shallow bowl of water in the shade for birds and insects to use. In fact leave it overnight for the mammals as well if you're able.

Put some rocks/stones/sticks in the water too so little creatures can drink safely and climb out if they end up in it. It's a simple thing to do but does so much for wildlife (even if you're high up on a balcony!).

I’m learning towards pair B — they def seem overlooked or overlookable cause of how shy they are and I would love to help em feel more comfortable. But on the other hand they were so shy I didn’t even get to pat em.

I have a lot of time and patience for anxious little furballs but I also don't want them just be miserable all the time and I'm sure there are other people out there with more experience getting cats out of their shells :-/

Any advice?

#cat adoption advice plz fediverse!

I met two pairs of cats earlier for adoption. Pair A were 9 mos; super gregarious friendly big kittens. Pair B were super super scared. They piled into their little hidey hole and peered out at me. They wouldn’t take snacks from my hand but ate if I dropped them nearby and backed off. Not threatening or aggressive just super scared :-/. They’re both 2yo and chonkier.

How sure are we supposed to be that the star child is benevolent? I've always assumed so due to the swelling music and the earlier drafts where all the nuclear weapons platforms in orbits are destroyed. But I think it's just as easy to assume that the star child will treat the earth like our ape ancestors treated the others at the watering hole.

It's nice to hope that this monolith-induced leap is moral as well, but I'm just not sure textually that's there.
