When you dig into it, almost every rich person has just been lucky. Their 'big break' came just at the right time, the market was just ready, and they rode the wave to success.
Most of the 'geniuses' then fail on their next projects ( the Tesla truck? hyper loop?) - often just spending or wasting vast amounts of their wealth on vanity projects.
What you don't see is the hundreds of other attempts at the same thing by others that were early, or late, and those people are not household names.
For an example, Sir Clive Sinclair in the UK invented the Spectrum computer, and made a reasonable amount of money : he then put lots of it into the C5, an electric battery-powered personal vehicle. The battery tech wasn't quite ready yet, so it failed and he was a laughing stock. A few years later, a better battery was developed and someone put it in an electric car and this time it was successful.
I know I've been very lucky : my special interests align with my work, most of my issues are maskable, and I can function well enough and have a decent job I enjoy.
It is *possible* for us to be high achievers, but it is mainly luck, and the odds are stacked against us.
No-one should ever think badly of themselves for not winning a lottery ticket.
Do what you love. Find and follow your preferences. Make yourself happy, don't judge yourself by other's standards. :).
