This is why we avoid having anything to do with "gig economy" businesses. The workers get screwed while the corporate overlords hoard all of the money.
They counted tips toward the minimum wage, wouldn't pay for mileage, "settled" for a quarter of what workers were entitled, but now they say they don't have any money.

A revised legislation would make all bus trips that start in DC free to all riders, operate some routes 24 hours a day, and create a dedicated service improvement fund. It’s the right direction for Councilmember Charles Allen’s Metro for DC bill, which still plans to eventually offer a $100 monthly transit subsidy for DC residents.
