I focus a lot on the child care workforce, but child welfare professionals (& for that matter, home health aides & elder care professionals) suffer from many of the same ills, all coming from the root of not enough public $ in care-focused systems.
We need a new ethic of care.
Child welfare workforce (CPS, foster care, adoption) has huge turnover (30%-40%) because of low pay, large caseloads, and intense work.
