(long time not written in there...)
Today I received a mail from the danish (#DNS) national register because I own or manage at least four domains in there.
They wrote that soon I will have the amazing opportunity to do everything related to my domains through the registar(s) of my choice(s) - which is most of the time the company where you are hosting your website.
**But I don't want that.**
I don't want to have to deal with another private entity which will provide no benefit to me. In my experience, those companies are just a massive annoyance, sending you commercial mails, requiring you to use cumbersome auth when right now, I can just auth in there using the national auth system.
It will just be a middle man with an extra fee on top of the very minor fee I pay right now for my domains. All that to access and manage my entries in the national DNS zone.
What do I have to do there ? Put in NS servers and DNSSEC keys for my zones. That's it.
All the rest, I do it myself !
I host my own websites, I run the authoritative dns servers with the zones.
So, no I don't want to deal with my domains through a middleman company.
But no, the ideology of "privatizing everything" has made another victim.
(Sorry if I sound dramatic. I am just angry there. I just don't see the point and I need to vent.
If they truly wanted to make it easier, they could have made that possible for everyone but not enforce it.)
