Great day out this morning for the very first X'Ttapolis 2 train in regular passenger service!

This is Melbourne's newest EMU train that will start to replace the ageing, but beloved, Comeng fleet.

Many people came to ride this service to Upfield and back despite the weather and short notice.

More to come in a future video!

People in the US: how do you get around without a car?

We’d like to hear from people living in US cities about what public transport, if any, you use

The Guardian

Well damn. I live in a city with a public transport system that, while we do complain, is quite decent and I have absolutely zero plans or desire to ever again own a car.

I do however remember the public transport death loop of living in a smaller place. Once the public transport to the nearby city where everyone worked, studied, did their shopping and so on became unreliable a lot of people needed to get cars. The more cars the less public transport could be justified the more need for cars and so on.

Or the end of zoning that forces business to be miles away from where people actually live.😤
