Khurram Wadee ✅

On my #bike ride this morning, I saw the first local #ElectricBus. The city had been planning to introduce them in 2026 and so, true to that date, they appear to be operating. Of course, just because I saw it today doesn’t mean they haven’t been around for a while now but it’s good to see them and I hope that most if not all #buses will become electrically powered rather than with #Diesel in the quite near future.

@mkwadee Nearly all the buses in #Leicester are electric.
Nicer for passengers and better for residents.

@MikeFromLFE Glad to hear it. I think most metropolitan area cities are ahead of us here in Devon and I'm glad we're catching up a bit. Still a way to go, though. The number of electric cars has been rising steadily for several years now.
