Exports control on Anthropic's current model just shows what a dumb kind of suckers the US government is these days. They fell for Anthropic's false advertising and the ban just makes Anthropic's model look more capable than it is.

@rniamat er zullen ongetwijfeld mensen van mening zijn dat dit scenario de mythe van AI die steeds maar beter wordt versterkt, het is alleen geen mythe en ook geen bubble die gaat klappen, wel financieel maar niet in de zin dat AI minder impact gaat hebben of minder transformatief wordt. Het gebabbel over de bubble en wat AI niet kan , leidt af van strategisch nadenken en acties formuleren die ons in Europa helpen

@rniamat ...ik gebruik nu al jaren de beste AI modellen, een feit is , ze worden echt elk jaar veel beter in vrijwel alles...maar discussies van de sceptici gaan over de blunders en fouten, die zijn er zeker, maar de trend is tot nu toe duidelijk

@ErikJonker The website does not clarify who is paying for this #Europe31 campaign. Therefore, I think it is a safe assumption that it is US Big Tech promotional material.

@janblockx then you haven't read/listened to the scenario for sure, have you? You can disagree with the premis about AI developments they deacribe in this scenario but you could also make this scenario for tech (not-AI) in general for the most parts. Many parts of the analysis are well made in my opinion (public administration/ ICT background)

Most of the work on this scenario was done by people in their free time. Arq Foundation — where co-authors Daan Juijn and Alex Petropoulos work — provided limited funding for things like a website and professional translation. We received no funding from the AI industry, and we have no profit motive. The author group deliberately spans think-tankers, academics, technical researchers and investors, to bring together a broad range of perspectives.

@ErikJonker Thanks, I did not see that, and wanted to avoid reading/listening to another “Magnificent 7” promotional website (but perhaps I have become too sceptical - while currently reading De Groot’s Kolonisten van de cloud). I’ll make time to listen to it. 🙏🏻
