I use a #Librem5 #Linux #phone. With the default #PureOS operating system.

Enjoy your #freedom, break free from #Google and #Apple.

Have a full Linux computer in your pocket that you can also use for calling.

Where to buy a non-Apple, non-Google smartphone

: Both Cupertino and Google are imposing ever stricter limits on their phones – but you have alternatives

How do you deal with banking and government apps? Those are the main pain point for me since they usually do not work without gplay services

@wellsaid I can do all banking below €5000 via the browser. Here in the Netherlands I can still login into government services with SMS as 2FA, so I do not need any app for government.

I oppose #appdwang (in Dutch):

Bied weerstand tegen appdwang en laat je geen apps opdringen! Op appdwang.nl vind je praktijkvoorbeelden en argumenten om duidelijk te maken wat je van appdwang vindt.

Same here in DE: So far, I did not miss much without an Android or iOS phone. Some #bicycle rentals and online #dating, that's it.

Banks work well with a #TANgenerator, #creditCard with #SMS. German #goverment and #administration mainly works by #telefax, I guess.

@debacle In Italy they mainly work by going to the office and wait in line for hours 🤣 For what they implemented web access is not bad actually (even if digital id is based on private companies...)

@janvlug
Unfortunately I found accessing banking and gov services via web browser very poor w.r.t. the app (obviously they put so much effort there and almost none in the web part) 🥲

I think some motivated person could accept a bit of inconvience but it is impossible for ordinary people to do so at this stage...
