Why are you crying?

@beecycling Also recycle in 32 different locations and, as I read today in another non-article in the Guardian on cost-effective food shopping, "visit your local market every day". Righty ho then 🤔

@callunavulgaris Oh God, I seem to recall a lot of that at the height of the pandemic - buy your veg from market stalls! Bloody where?

That would be at least half an hour away for me, and not much cheaper. Meanwhile I've got three supermarkets five minutes walk away.

@beecycling @callunavulgaris Where are these places that have local markets every day? Narnia?
@thebaywindowgirl "escaping to Narnia" is probably another recommendation in those lists. @beecycling @callunavulgaris
@thebaywindowgirl Munich, Bavaria. We got local markets in almost every city district. @beecycling @callunavulgaris

@energisch_ @thebaywindowgirl @beecycling @callunavulgaris

Additional to several local markets on different days and locations in Munich there is the central "Viktualienmarkt". Good, but rather expensive ...

@muenchnerin and the Elizabeth Market, a small Victulienmarkt ;-) @thebaywindowgirl @beecycling @callunavulgaris
@callunavulgaris @beecycling My local market is only Friday and Saturday. Sligtly less local (and much smaller) markets in two different locations Tuesday and Wednesday. Also at least two shops much nearer where I can get organic vegetables six days a week.
@beecycling Fitter Happier by Radiohead comes to mind
@djsf
A pig in a cage, sure. But antibiotics too? In this economy?
@beecycling
@moondog548 @beecycling yeah like i thought antibiotics were part of the deal; i feel so betrayed
@beecycling
I can't believe you refuse to travel the world you utter troglodyte. 🙄
@beecycling I'm tired, boss.
@da_667 @beecycling Understatement of the century.
@beecycling Wait, you're mental health is tanking? Why aren't you practicing mental resilience?

@JSCybersec @beecycling lol cry

Mindfulness? My mind is already far too full!

@JSCybersec Oh yes, I forgot about mediation. And having a clean and tidy house.
@beecycling @JSCybersec is that the decluttered house that also contains all the latest everything?
@beecycling You're fired for no work life balance, sorry.
@beecycling
Make sure no child has worked for the products you buy and the farmer's are paid fairly!
@beecycling Don't forget to stay hydrated and meditate.
@beecycling Because this seems to be the list for women. Guess the one for the men is shorter or some tasks come with extra plaudits for them.
@FrauSuutje Could be. Women get extra things, like keep the house clean and tidy. But men are struggling just as much to get the time, and the mental energy, to do so the things they should be able to do too.
@beecycling @FrauSuutje What are you talking about? Where's that woman keeping my house clean and tidy? Where's the one cooking my meal? I'm waiting! ⌛ 🥳
@FrauSuutje @beecycling extra plaudits indeed. lopsided expectations...and rewards!! male=win=everyoneelseloses
@FrauSuutje @beecycling because, of course, women are always multitasking and can do 10 things parallel.
@FrauSuutje @beecycling Women and progressive liberal men.
@vonxylofon @FrauSuutje This isn't really a men versus women thing. Men are being robbed of their time too, to make other people rich. This is an #antiwork thing. 😁 Or at least an anti full-time work thing. Give us UBI. Give us more part-time jobs. Lose the expectation that everyone should have a job, even as jobs continue to inexorably disappear. Give people the free time they need to thrive, not be mere drones.
@beecycling And "limit your screen time", while forcing clumsy apps on us for everything, for which you need new expensive devices, while "save money!", and "get some fresh air", while pushing us to 'clean' woodpellets, etc.
@beecycling don’t forget to floss your teeth!
@beecycling
step 1 have everything figured out
@beecycling sorry, no time to cry, too much to do already
@beecycling crying because I fully thought this was a normal task list until maybe the second or third read throuuuugghhh
@beecycling don’t forget to get sufficient and good sleep.
The chores are unending.
It’s almost like we don’t have an economy where one income can support a household and others can handle the shopping, cleaning, cooking and whatever other errands come around
@beecycling while you're crying you essentially do have time to handle the stuff your kids forgot for the last months and now at least two teachers are angry at you
@beecycling That's a great way to burn out. It's like the system was built this way.
@beecycling have you tried being rich?
@beecycling Distractions shouted by the rulers to individualize the struggle to prevent the people from uniting against the capitalists.
They are the ones spreading and making up those expectations to cultivate good little workers that keep themself heathy and busy. Ofc most of the above is important propably but how in a world where we are kept hostage to sell of our labor for like 10-12h a day and the absolute majority value we create is taken from us to sell for profit.

@beecycling

Society: Procreate, consume, die before you become a burden.

@beecycling
Isn't this a Radiohead song?

@beecycling

And go paperless on all your bills, but make sure that you log into each individual accounts according to its own individual calendars so you can make your payments on time. Unless you, nudge nudge wink wink, want to give us direct access to your bank accounts. 😈

@KanaMauna @beecycling

And use whatever 2FA system they implement, and have a unique password that looks like line noise that you change every 30 days and exists nowhere except in your head.

@beecycling But really though, all this “individualism” and “you can do it all yourself” has really hurt many people and arguably multiple generations…
All of what is described here is basically tasks that should be performed by multiple people, not a single person. And yet here we are in this society and capitalism saying things like this REPEATEDLY
@beecycling And yeah I was crying about half way in 😿😹

@beecycling
Then pay us twice as much for half the hours, you assholes.

(That wouldn't be enough to solve the problem, as this list is demanding essentially three full work weeks of us every week, but it would make it viable to even *try* half of it...)

...Also, I belatedly notice that this list doesn't even include maintaining one's house, hygiene, grocery shopping...

@pteryx Yeah, there's only so much space! And after the job part really I wanted to focus more on things we're told we should do, and indeed we mostly want to do, to be happier, healthier, etc, rather than on the stuff that's simply more demands on our time.

@beecycling Put people in a position where they have to "cheat" by doing some of these things during work hours. To avoid being noticed/caught they will then accept everything you throw their way, and won't complain about anything.

Same reason Christianity all but forbade sex, or governements make drugs such as cannabis illegal.

@beecycling take public transit and save the rainforest.
