Living in Missouri, Minnesota, Arkansas, and Kansas informed my biases which strongly lead me to feel that "Mountains" and "Midwest" don't properly go in the same sentence. Utterly irrational, I'm sure.
Super curious to hear more. How does it feel Midwestern?
@purp I mean, don't get me wrong, I can totally see how people from, say, Duluth or Wichita or Rapid City might have a very different conception of what "Midwest" means, but I'm originally from NYC and went to university at CMU. I've also lived for many years in Philadelphia. There is a fundamental distinction btw Philly and Pittsburgh, because of the fact that PGH is on the other side of the mountains. It's definitely the most eastern of the Midwest, but it's also definitely NOT "East Coast".
