Trump would not have been possible if the entire US political system, on a bipartisan basis, had not become a game of elite impunity, if it had not nullified any accountability for political actors, and if it had not repeatedly encouraged imperial military violence under multiple administrations, shrugging off any sense of moral responsibility for the death, chaos, and misery the country unleashed each time. This is the result of a political culture that whines about "purity tests."
This specific situation of a US president threatening to annihilate an entire civilization could not have happened without the American political culture embracing anti-Arab racism and Islamophobia in pursuit of imperial power, resource access, and alignment with an out of control foreign government run by terrorists, fascists, and ethno-nationalist extremists.

Over and over and over again, the US Congress has shrugged at a president making war on a whim and handed him trillions of dollars to feed into a military machine so bloated with cash it can't even properly account for how it's spent.

It has cheered for a fascist who runs an apartheid state, casually makes war on his neighbors, and talks of conquering the entire region in the name of "security" and "defense."

We were told this normal. Mandatory, even. Or that we got what we deserve.

@gwynnion Also, Americans too uneducated and incurious about the world around them to know IRANIANS AREN'T ARABS. Few things drove that home to me more than some inbred dipshit shooting a SIKH a few days after 9/11 who owned a convenience store/gas station just a couple miles away from me who I was acquainted with personally.

@lerxst @gwynnion I dunno while I agree it would be nice if Americans were more curious about the worlld around them being more accurate with their racism probably would not be an improvement
@waitworry @gwynnion you’re probably right, alas. A boy can dream that some additional curiosity would drag along a little more tolerance too, but it may just be my wishful thinking.
@gwynnion
Years ago, the same people: "what? No, we're not unilaterally dismantling regulations and checks and balances at all, what are you talking about??"

@gwynnion

we were too busy watching blockbuster videos, snacking on mcdonald's take out, and sporting our levi's 501s to notice what was happening. sorry.

@saltywizard @gwynnion

Consumerism is humanity's Novocaine

@softspeak @gwynnion

and religion is our opiate and convenience is our crack cocaine.

@gwynnion The heavily skewing of people doing sustainable math, starts in early stages of development, and some of it is hardware inherited through DNA.

Teach any group of people a single-solve mindset, where reduction/deduction math from multiples, is the ONLY norm, and you'll eventually end up with a crippled civilization, at scale.

Make #BehavioralScience #CoreEducation or #BackIntoCaves

@gwynnion Yup.

To think that when a child swore at my sister teaching in school if she swore back her career would have instantly ended.

Compare with a plethora of crimes unpunished by someone wielding far far far greater power.

It is INSANELY bad.

It is surreal in a way - that accountability could be less than in a corner shop.

@gwynnion I think so too.

Just watch the democrats betray their base by turning right.

They feel entirely comfortable doing this, because there’s no alternative.

”What are going to do, vote for a third party? Hahah”

@gwynnion

Yes BUT
Money 🤑💰🤑💰🤑 it's all about money. Money buying power Power taking money to betray their voters to get money for power to rig the system to stay in power to make more money.

Our 'Public Servant' s mock what was a noble calling once they realized 💰 🤑 in selling their souls.

The American people are no where in their math.

End Game: Corps run by ai, Americans out of work no healthcare no future dying planet? Seriously??

Btw my soul is for sale $ .5M + healthcare

@gwynnion If only there was some way to know this guy was going to be a dangerous madman if elected… but it was all hidden… nobody could have predicted this…
@gwynnion
as Roger Waters once sang..
" Big man, Pig Man, Ha Ha charade you are!!"
