Willow (she/her)@kodamux @lydiafacts Additionally, using the advanced web version (vs and app) you can put one or more hashtags into a column so you can see the content without them appearing in your home feed.
Getting familiar with hashtags and learning how to set up mute and CW filters is my other piece of advice. You have a lot of power to curate your feed the way you want it to be.

spiegelmama@kodamux Yep, you're killing it so far! I suggest writing a post about one of your interests and putting in a bunch of related hashtags at the bottom. Animal pictures, plant pictures, and moss pictures all seem to do well, too. I highly recommend #Mosstodon for a refreshing place to rest your eyes and mind.
DianeMastodon has a neat timed mute feature to silence someone who's being annoying for a few hours or days.
I used this on a journalist during a close election, and on someone who was getting into a really heated argument in my feed.
Being able to follow hashtags is a good way to start to find people.
