#Artemis launch seen from Southwest flight MDW>MCO
@samvarma @piepants that’s a pretty cool clip 🚀
@samvarma
That’s wild! So cool you got to see it like that.
@neverbeaten Totally bonkers. I had no idea we were on track for that, and then the pilot announces it and I was like huh I wonder if we'll see that
@samvarma @neverbeaten
Pretty cool that the pilot announced it.
@samvarma
Well that's better than watching it on TV!
@samvarma Wild! Thanks for sharing!
@samvarma I don't think you can ever top that for inflight entertainment.
@VWDasher Nope quite honestly that was incredible
@samvarma whole plane lurches to the left as everyone tries to watch the spaceship
@heathborders 🤣 plane was actually half empty, but I did AirDrop the photos and footage to anybody who wanted it
@heathborders @samvarma Ha!
Just to say, in reality it wouldn’t matter, not like in a small boat.
But if everyone ran to the front or back, that would indeed be catastrophic.
Just landed in MCO
@samvarma I totally saw your plane. I was like, *who* is flying that plane that close to a rocket launch, OMG.
@Thoreau Southwest, that's who 🤣
@Thoreau @samvarma
This is why we need to pay our air traffic controllers !!

@bazurk @samvarma True story!

I think from the plane's perspective they were far enough away, but from the ground the plane looked close enough to the rocket to make me scrunch up my face and try to do mental math involving a rocket traveling south on a vertical incline 100 degrees at 7.8 to 7.9 kms/s and a plane traveling north at 965 km/hr..... 👀 adjust for wind, carry the one, try not to have a small heart attack....

@Thoreau @bazurk Well this is the location that was GPS stamped onto the photo… We were severely far away from that...

Someone else mentioned a plane being super close and it couldn't possibly have been us thinking about it now

@samvarma @Thoreau

I have an anxiety disorder. I’d still freak out.

@bazurk @Thoreau Fair enough. Probably shouldn't mention that I popped the emergency exit open to get the shot

@samvarma @bazurk @Thoreau

Well I hope the air stewards refused to give you another glass of wine or snack!! Shame on you! 🤣🤣

@samvarma @bazurk Aw, it had to be a different plane, because my plane was flying along the coast line on a northerly route.

@samvarma also idk if you saw me post this before but i am proud if this edit

@samvarma Thanks for posting this, Sam! You got to watch such an historic moment from your plane! lol
@MikeBarbre 100% that was crazy and such a coincidence!
@samvarma
That's sooo cool!!! Best seats in the house!
@samvarma Nice catch! Thanks a ton for sharing!
@samvarma Awesome. Thanks for sharing

@samvarma

So cool! Thanks for sharing!

I watched the last moonshot, Apollo 17, go up from Lakeland. It was late at night. It makes these views all the more meaningful to me.

@samvarma Wow, what a view!

@samvarma Did you know you’d be flying during the launch, chose the side of the plane accordingly? Or was it sheer luck? Did the pilot announce it before you saw it? It must’ve been very exciting. :)

Anyway, what a wonderful way to have seen the launch. :)

@samvarma Oh my goodness, this is incredible!!!!!! 💖🚀
@samvarma how did the people in the right rows feel about missing the launch?
