We’re doing this!
The US Army Corps of Engineers awarded the $691M construction contract for the juvenile salmon downstream fish passage project at Hanson Dam on the Green River. This is a huge milestone reached toward salmon recovery in Puget Sound!

I’ve been working on this since my first day at USACE in 2005. The project went on hold in 2011 due to budget issues. We are back on track, so this will be the biggest project of my career.

USACE Contract Award Finalized for Howard A. Hanson Dam Additional Water Storage Fish Passage

FlatironDragados and joint venture partner Aecon have finalized a $691 million contract to deliver the Howard A. Hanson Dam Additional Water Storage Fish Passage Facility.

@ncgleason That is big, and long overdue. I believe Seattle City Light is preparing to do the same on the upper Skagit. Very important work, thank you.
@GPJohnston Yes, I’m curious to see how Seattle City Light will design passage around (or through?) their dams and if they can get any federal funding. It’s obviously quite expensive!
@ncgleason Fantastic news and thank you for your continued hard work on this project.
@ncgleason Awesome -- and thanks for all your work on this project!
@elaterite It’s an honor to get to do this work! Very excited to move to construction phase!
@ncgleason That's fantastic news!
