Decades.... maybe a century.
@VeroniqueB99 Ever since North America was invaded by colonialists, so centuries. The crimes against indigenous people must end and reparations paid; at the very least, all rights and properties restored! Empire is run by the biggest liars, thieves, murderers, rapists, cowards, and losers. #ColonialistsAreTerrorists #EmpiresAreShitHoleCreators
@VeroniqueB99 honestly. I dont want to go back, being a world power is not worth it. For every country, it seems that life gets better when you become a middle power. Just sayin'.
@VeroniqueB99 Nationalism itself should be reconsidered. If we aren't lucky, industrial civilization may be discredited for centuries.

It took decades for Germany to regain its
standing internationally. It will take decades
to rehabilitate the US. Many of us
boycotting US goods will never again buy
from the US.

It's not just Trump. It's every
Republicans who didn't call him out. It's the
ICE agents who killed. It's the contractors
who built concentration camps. It's a nation
that stayed silent when he sided with
Russia against Ukraine. It's watching US
soldiers come home in coffins from an
illegal war.

It's not just Trump.

@VeroniqueB99 no it's just decades. Then we can spin up a far right genocidal party again.
@VeroniqueB99 A generation or two at least.
@Lightfighter 2 for sure, more like 4 to me...
@VeroniqueB99 Are there any resources you can recommend for a sustainable path to boycotting American goods? I'm not doing well so far. Trying to break from Amazon, but my disorganisation means I keep falling back on speedy delivery. I would like to do better.
@JustinMac84 ...depends where you are...
@VeroniqueB99 UK. I don't particularly want to boycot small American business, it's not their fault, but I would like to boycot the large tech and other companies as much as possible, preferably by pivoting to other alternatives that minimise the impact on me and particularly the children in my care.

@JustinMac84 So Amazon is No1 (and easy to do- replace with ma am pa shop. You can even look at those shops on AZ then go to their site - they usually have a page and buy from there)

Also there's an app that is the No1 app to check eerything (my GenZ son drives me insane while grocery shopping, we now shop 100% political. No this no that, sometimes it hard but it's always possible to find alternatives. It's called the No Thanks! app... it scan for zionism and political leanings of corps.

@VeroniqueB99 @JustinMac84

There is a good chance that if you order direct from a sellers website, it will be fulfilled by Amazon.

@VeroniqueB99 A century from now the climate will be terrible and it will be obvious that the US has been more guilty than any other country.
@pietkuip to be fair.. China's up there...
@pietkuip @VeroniqueB99 Adorable that you think the planet won't be fried in a hundred years 😆

@VeroniqueB99 A pretty mean joke I overheard lately:

— What borders on stupidity?

— Canada and Mexico!

[Thankfully most of the U.S. isn't as stupid as the criminal moron tainting, defiling & demolishing their presidential office, in service of America's arch-enemy in the Kremlin!]

@VeroniqueB99 It's the school shootings, the racism, the misogyny, the illegal invasions of sovereign nations hoping to self-determine, it's the fucking military base in my country and the behaviour of its personnel on leave. It's the abuse of the "alliance" with my country, the coercion and control. The coup orchestrated here in 1976.
Never trust the USA

@VeroniqueB99 How about never since we *never* fucking learned and likely won't this time, either.

#CivilWar = confederate slime was allowed to continue to exist

#WWII = Nazi slime was allowed to continue to exist

#MAGA = Republicans incredulously still considered legitimate in any sense of the fucking word

The world has their answer as to whether or not we 'accept' this.

#TheOnlyGoodNaziIsADeadNazi

@VeroniqueB99 I know people younger than I am who got bullied for having German last names because that supposedly made them nazis. I turned 30 less than six years ago. V-E day was almost 81 years ago. So this person got bullied for allegedly being a nazi in school when roughly 60 years had passed.

I had a teacher in 2008, when 63 years had passed since then, suddenly get extremely uncomfortable about me disliking that my history class that year wasn't going to teach me anything passed the end of the Great Depression and I was asking for books on World War 2 from the library and mentioned disliking that all they were saying in previous classes is that this Hitler guy was a real dick. I had to be told the significance of that teacher having a very German last name and he was only partially relieved when I explained most of my family would be in camps in that happened today, so I wanted to understand why we were such a threat to him.

This is why I left the States, why I'm nervous every time I have to admit I'm American here even though allegedly no one here cares, because even if I die of old age, I will be dead in the ground before America recovers from this, and I'm only 30.

@VeroniqueB99 decades of very focused hard work, economically and on the guilt question ( which was very clearly put). The guilt question is not clear for most Americans, yet.

@VeroniqueB99

We can’t forget the communities where these concentration camps operate in what it does for what it means to have a community dependent on kidnapped people in the money spent to incarcerate fly around deport basically disappear thousands of thousands of people.
The horror stories of treatment inside those facilities and what it means for people to operate as prisoners

@VeroniqueB99
The chaps who voted him in not mentioned, the whole load who voted him in. Twice. He didn't get up there on a helium balloon. Or maybe he did - like that stuff that floats about in carnivals, some kind of five minute feelgood. I only have a prayer for sanity now, try not to vote him in again maybe?
The "Rest of the World" as we've quaintly been called is moving on anyway, making new alliances, finding new ways. Bombs can fall but not everywhere at the same time.
@VeroniqueB99 You all forgave Germany already? They still stand with Israel and the AFD is way more popular than it should be. Abolish the USA.
@VeroniqueB99 I think eon's comes first.

@VeroniqueB99 My favorite quote so far is "We will never fucking trust you again."
