What a really shitty way to treat children. I hope all the people responsible for this have something happen in their personal life that gives them pause to recognise the unnecessary pain they've inflicted on innocents. And I hope it eats away at them inside. And I hope they choose to use that pain to undo some of their harms.

More of the latter. Though many people think they haven't put up enough of a fight against it, the simple fact is that if it did come to a fight, one side is a charity organisation with a budget written largely in IOU post-it notes, and the other has enough dark money and Harry Potter income to sustain a court case until it straight up bankrupts the Guides.
That's awful.
Girl Guides Canada doing better:
• GGC welcomes cisgender and transgender girls and women, as well as non-binary and two-spirit youth who feel comfortable in female-focused spaces.
• We actively create a culture of safety, belonging, and celebration; youth are embraced for who they are with respect, warmth, and understanding.
• Preferred names and pronouns are always used.
• Guidelines for the Inclusion of Transgender and Non-binary Members support safe, welcoming, and affirming environments for all.
Don't jinx us, neighbour! We have our fair share of closed-minded arsehole activists tryin' to ruin everyone's good time. Got to watch them constantly, lest they get another book banned or a rainbow crosswalk erased. ✌️🦫❤️🔥
