#Trump said #Israel had “violently lashed out” at #Iran & distanced himself from the assault on the world’s largest natural #gas deposit, which Iran shares with #Qatar, a close #US #ally & host of Washington’s biggest military base in the Gulf.

“The United States knew nothing about this particular attack, & the country of Qatar was in no way, shape, or form, involved with it,” Trump posted.
 But multiple officials directly contradicted that claim…

Admin officials said that while the #US was not involved in the strike, the Israelis informed Washington about the attack in advance.
The incident, which drove #energy prices higher & prompted retaliatory Iranian missile fire at #Qatar’s main #gas facility & #SaudiArabia’s capital, was indicative of #Trump’s vacillation as he’s tried to manage an unpopular #war that has killed 13 Americans to date.

@Nonilex in yesterday's press conference, #netanyahu gave two different messages, one in Hebrew where he reiterated that #Israel will do whatever it takes to achieve its goals against #iran. in English then, gave all the key words that #trump & co would like to hear (war will end soon, trump is the leader, we won't bomb #iran energy facilities...etc). two target audiences, two messages.
