President Donald Trump is delivering the first State of the Union address of his second term. Priorities for the Republican’s administration have centered largely on the economy, immigration, crime, energy and national security, issues about which he's known to make false and misleading claims. For example, while the economy has grown overall it has hit bumps in 2025. Trump also overstates investments in the U.S. and misleads on figures related to migrant crime. Plus, Trump frequently exaggerates the cleanliness of coal and the cost of wind energy. Trump makes his speech on Tuesday.

The Harvard Business School study cited found U.S. consumers bore about 43% of tariff costs, with most of the remainder absorbed by U.S. firms — not foreign exporters — who in turn pass the regressive taxes along to customers, to the Public at-large, further undermining the economy nationally.
