Tech Billionaires Want Us Dead

@F3715H @hacks4pancakes
Right now the other millenarians in the US administration seem to be a more immediate danger?
#uspol
@F3715H @hacks4pancakes I know we should care about Taiwan but with the AI bubble taking all the consumer hardware it feels like more of a struggle to care honestly. I wonder if Taiwan knew the hearts and minds argument of ""The West"ish needs chips" was going to be harder? Well they are all gone for the people now lol
@hacks4pancakes Fulltime job! I just read planes with tourists from UK to US are almost full for Easter. Hard to believe ppl happy to go to US.

@annehargreaves @hacks4pancakes I only know people fleeing the #USA and ditching their passports to do so!

- Some literally scheduling their Renounciation to pay *only* $450 instead if $2350…

@hacks4pancakes I thought the whole point of having representatives in politics is so that you DON'T have to watch all of that all the time, because responsible people that you elected and bestowed with your trust will do so.
@alpacamale adding a bullet for the decay of western democratic representation

@alpacamale @hacks4pancakes
No, they're supposed to be for making decisions after listening to their constituents because everyone voting for everything is too much. Our job is to pay attention so we know who to send.

The problem is we shouldn't have to pay attention to so much. Usually there's just not as much to watch out for all at once.

@hacks4pancakes An excellent list. I somehow also managed to find time to keep up on "whatever the damn dog is up to over there" as well, but I think that may have exhausted my capacity. We'll soon see...

@hacks4pancakes

I'm tired boss ☹️

@hacks4pancakes and tech ceos being commissioned as ltc. It’s all something for sure.
@hacks4pancakes Perhaps you should consider adding development of new classes of weapons, like the ones described in 'Havanna Syndrome' to this list. Those are essentially 'Invisible' weapons that cause brain damage, and a lot of public figures these days (Trump for example) are acting like they have some brain damage. One LLM referred to them as 'Bioelectronic', despite the fact that I don't trust LLMs too much, the name seems fitting. That could be cause for some of problems world is facing.
@hacks4pancakes If you don't mind I'm just going to go to the woods and watch crows. Doing as you suggest sounds like a recipe for mental illness. And all the bad guys want us disabled anyway.
@hacks4pancakes
Where is all this leading us to?
@hacks4pancakes
The Pakistan-Afghanistan thing is also ringing some alarms.
@sollat I put that all kinda into the US-Israel thing since they kind of instigated it all over the past 20 years.
@hacks4pancakes - Eye openers Indeed, Thank you.

@hacks4pancakes
How does one watch all that while also watching one's mental and physical health?

The day I had surgery last week and was able to read very little news was probably the most relaxing day I've had all year

@hacks4pancakes And you left out global overheating/climate change
@hacks4pancakes great list. Here's one more item that isn't getting enough attention: Sudan's famine and civil war. (Admittedly, this has less global impact, but it is among the worst suffering in the world right now.)

‘Extraordinary cruelty’: images show longterm ‘starvation strategy’ in Sudan

Experts argue sensor and satellite data reveal targeted attacks by the Rapid Support Forces on farming communities were intended to prevent villages producing food

The Guardian
@adamhotep @hacks4pancakes I agree with you, but endless iteration over the list of immense suffering in the world is a quick path towards depression, and then nothingness

@codinghorror @hacks4pancakes While this is true, I worry about the trumpery in the news these days, like how the US has reached a new and dangerous level of ADHD; we invaded two nations simply to distract from the Epstein files.

(Yes, trumpery.) #uspol
