email response to me, last sentence:

"All of that said, I hear the frustration behind your note — and it’s warranted. The question, to me, isn’t whether the system is under strain (it clearly is), but whether there are still levers to pull. I believe there are, even if they’re imperfect and slower than any of us would like." (note use of emdashes in this way, and earlier in the reply consistently, strongly implies this is a LLM response, not a human one)

my reply:

"This is an assault on fundamental human dignity and civil rights. Not the kind of thing you give any quarter to, but we have zero leaders (that I can see, anyway) of the heroic Lincoln / Roosevelt caliber necessary to lead us through this as a whole. I hope one emerges, but that is a thin, thin thread indeed.."

@codinghorror In 2018 Michigan voters passed a constitutional amendment to create a redistricting body, and the GOP legislature did their best to not provide funding. It happened eventually but they delayed and underfunded as much as they could.
I wish more people got hired just for being decent people you want to have around instead of everything having to be about ROI all the time. One of my favorite coworkers is the local office manager. She's probably the "least important" by capitalist BS metrics but she's also one of the kindest people you'll ever meet. She makes me want to show up to work.
Or just maybe, like, a squirrel

When you notice a cat in profound meditation,

The reason, I tell you, is always the same:

His mind is engaged in a rapt contemplation

Of the thought, of the thought, of the thought of his name:

His ineffable effable

Effanineffable

Deep and inscrutable singular name.

The only political figure I've seen that remotely impresses me these days is Michael Tubbs. Every time I see Michael in person, like tonight in Oakland, he is so compelling that I am moved to donate despite myself. He is incredible. if California is relevant to your interests, I strongly urge you to support Tubbs. He is the future we want, I assure you. https://michaeltubbsforca.com
Surf combines Bluesky, Mastodon, RSS, and other content into customizable open feeds on the web. I’ve been using it and love it. Let’s bring back the open web! https://www.theverge.com/tech/905929/flipboard-surf-fediverse-launch
Flipboard just launched Surf, its new social app and feed reader

It’s a product of the social web, also known as the fediverse. The idea is to make it easy for anyone to curate the content they want, wherever it comes from.

I don't get these phishing emails often, but when I do, I push the "take off and nuke the entire site from orbit" button with considerable enthusiasm..
Weird angle, but correct
