🧵1/ Real People. Real Talk. Real #Life.

💬 Funny exchange with my over‑65 online fitness client, who’s been steadily building strength — and this year, she’s officially doing full pushups 🔥 on the floor. She sent me a study on strength in older #women and lower mortality, and I used it as an opportunity to highlight some of the underreported variables in healthy #aging.

🗣️Me: “In my experience, lower #mortality and quality of life involve more than strength. Having loved ones or a support

network, accessible healthcare, and staying consistent with physical activity all support healthy aging. And don’t forget the few anomalies who smoke cigars and drink whiskey at 98.”

😆 Her: “Hahahaha! Yes, like my grandmother who lived to 100 and quit smoking at 98 — only because my mother pointed out she was likely to set herself on fire! She kept forgetting to flick the ashes.”

📌 The takeaway: Community, consistency, affordable healthcare, and a sense of humor are just as vital for quality of life as your workout.
