It's Friday!
@cR0w push it. Push it real good!
@cR0w fuck, I knew I forgot something! Was busy touching systems with P1 potential & no manual in sight.
@cR0w you jest but I saw an internal root cause analysis that was exactly that. LLM said something would not cause a disruption. All tests pass. Push to prod at literally 5pm Friday and go get a beer. 74 hours downtime. Luckily just an internal thing that didn’t matter much.
@paco @cR0w that one time I believed LLM when it said reinstalling one service wouldn't affect other, connected to our production apps... Well it uninstalled that second service. At least I had installer and config file ready to use any moment so nobody noticed.
@cR0w Isn't that button labeled "skip CI and push to prod" now?
@cR0w @[email protected] If the code you worked on has no tests then it doesnt matter anyway.

@cR0w

its not MY production now is it?

@cR0w My devs are smarter. Deploy Thu evening, knowing I won’t start testing until Fri late afternoon when they’ve all fucked off for the weekend ^^
@boink As long as they're able to turn their pagers off before the tickets start. 🍻
@cR0w. Involve the on-call and be stuck forever… or create a beautiful ticket with an undeniable pile of data and fuck off myself? It’s a dance :-)
@boink Drop your phone, wander into the woods, find Bigfoot, and retire to drink beer in the woods with a cryptid.
