As someone who worked in Azure during the time they were vying for the JEDI contracts, this feels absolutely true.
Compared to AWS it was absolute garbage.
Hell, compared to almost anything. Just unusable without a ton of babysitting and checks and hacks.

The exact moment software went downhill was when #mozilla changed away from this.
Remember, AI use is an individual problem, solvable by shaming people online. If you complain enough, they will stand up to immense economic and social forces in order to risk everything for the chance to gain nothing.
Every employer is loudly proclaiming “while you may not be replaced by AI, you’ll be replaced by someone better at using it than you are”, and what’s a little food and shelter for your family anyways? Tell them to fuck off long enough that the gap makes you unemployable forever.
