By the way, if someone is serving for the United States military, it is a bit old fashioned to say "thank you for your service", perhaps try instead: "you are a traitor to the human race."

@existentialcomics "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all"

Why not offer them a spot in your local militia? Maybe the only reason that they are in the US Military is because they like rigid structure, and are good at violence.

There will always be a place in the world for men that are good at violence. And that scares the crap out of me.

@existentialcomics I think my instance admin blocked you. So I can’t reply directly but damnit I have a point to make to @sortius … stay in your lane bro.

@frigginglorious @existentialcomics well @sortius propably blocked you too.

  • So no reason to give a damn…
@kkarhan @existentialcomics @sortius awww, that makes more sense. I just had a point to make. I wanted to share my hopes of my country saving itself and not bringing about a nuclear apocalypse!

@frigginglorious @existentialcomics @sortius

Most of the wars after the French revolution were defensive. It's just that when your enemy creates a coalition of states which each puts down 10 000 troops or so against a state with millions of soldiers, and you don't have nukes, you pretty much have to march your soldiers pretty much everywhere.

@iju @existentialcomics @sortius huh I thought napoleon was a conqueror kind of guy.

@frigginglorious @existentialcomics @sortius

Well, Napoleon did swap leaders after defeating the countries. Which is what winning states still tend to do!

But Britain is the one who started the wars (or most of them, at least), and came back with more and more allies as Napoleon beat the old ones.

Edit: but this is a complicated topic, and I'm not comfortable trying to do cliffnotes ! :D

@frigginglorious

Wonder what @sortius thinks of the de-Ba'athification of Iraq lmao

Probably call critics Saddam bootlickers too. Libs man...

@existentialcomics

@budududuroiu @sortius @existentialcomics I hope it was previously stated that I'm a poor student of history :P

@frigginglorious @existentialcomics you mean how all the rejects go to #ICE aka. #AmericanGestapo and all the #bootlickers join the designated Terrorist Groups like "#ProudBoys" ?

  • Granted, if they ain't fash, they'd join the #SRA!

#USpol #military #fascism #racism #militarism

Leftists are statistically predisposed against violence (no surprises there) but continuously imagine "everyone else is fundamentally like them" - empirically wrong.

Winning over cops and soldiers is absolutely critical for any _relatively peaceful_ shift in power/system.

(Unless ppl want to keep status quo or have a blood-bath. I want neither, thanks!)

#77: How to Tell If Someone Is Hitting You

(09/17/2024) A dominance hierarchy is a social structure where some people are allowed to hit you, and you're not allowed to hit back. It is defined by a sustained, institutionalized asymmetry of aggressive-submissive interactions. This skewed distribution of aggression enables a skewed distribution of resources and opportunities. Modern history has ostensibly been an epic conflict between different political ideas, but from this biological perspective, it has been awfully monolithic: mostly a c

@douginamug dang I really like that summary. I’ll give this a listen when i can, seems like great stuff!
@frigginglorious it has been quite influential... I would recommend starting at the beginning though, Schroder gets his story and theory hammered out clearest in the first couple of episodes and it really helped
