I migrated my profile here, so let's add a short #introduction:

I am the #developer of #ArcaneChat, one of the #DeltaChat developers and many other small projects related to it, like creating or porting several web apps to #webxdc (in-chat mini-apps), I also develop several #bots for the mentioned chat apps

Outside #programming I like to cook, #hike, learn to play the #guitar, chill listening to music, drink green tea, learn #German language (and I would like to learn #Portuguese, #Italian and #French if I even finish with German 😅)

I speak #Spanish and #English but I will be speaking only English in this account

@adbenitez Hello, thanks for the intro. I’m also new here. Been learning about #deltachat since joining. I’m very much interested in European software alternatives to big tech. I hope to be able to contribute to some of this software also as I’ve been a software engineer since 2014 (web focused). Back when the web was still exciting and individualistic. Which it still is, just a lot harder to find.

@brianwdouglas the in-chat mini-apps is a good playground if you are a web developer, it is basically sandboxed web apps shared in a chat, but you get:

- you don't need to host it in some domain+server
- you get user authentication without having to worry about handling user registration data
- you get e2e encryption and multi-player/networking between users without having to worry about hosting user data and GDPR compliance you don't have control over any user data at all!
- web apps are offline-first out of the box

it is super easy to develop them, it is basically just creating a zip with the web site bundle, for more info see:

Webxdc: mini apps shared in a chat

Secure mini apps for chats. No internet access, no tracking, no servers.

@adbenitez nice one, I’ll check this out. Reminds me of itchi.io and its “play in browser” functionality. Perhaps a delta chat game jam is needed 💡🤔
@brianwdouglas indeed having a jam would be awesome, or to have a webxdc category in #js13kgames jam
@adbenitez @brianwdouglas there's even an earlier opportunity than @js13kGames 2026 in August: the upcoming @GamedevJS Jam 2026 in April, please reach out https://gamedevjs.com/contact/ so we can discuss the potential category/challenge, thanks!
