The last two weeks saw a dev gathering in the black forest from several in #chatmail, #deltachat and #webxdc communiities, also joined by @n0iroh and @rpgp folks. The tech demos and hacking results we presented to each other, were pretty mind blowing and tracing a path to very interesting futures, delivered in working code, not just some grand plan. Let us just say for now that we are getting to the fun parts of an age old http://testrun.org motto :) happy #equinox! May the tides turn!

Fun funding fact: If we had 10 times more money to develop #deltachat , the #chatmail relay network and the #webxdc secure mini app ecosystem, we would still have ten times less than what signal has (let alone Whatsapp or telegram). But we don't want to increase nudging people for donations, as we have many users who don't even have a legal way to send us money, let alone the means. It is a special kind of reward that delta works where most if not all other messengers fail to work for users.

I migrated my profile here, so let's add a short #introduction:

I am the #developer of #ArcaneChat, one of the #DeltaChat developers and many other small projects related to it, like creating or porting several web apps to #webxdc (in-chat mini-apps), I also develop several #bots for the mentioned chat apps

Outside #programming I like to cook, #hike, learn to play the #guitar, chill listening to music, drink green tea, learn #German language (and I would like to learn #Portuguese, #Italian and #French if I even finish with German 😅)

I speak #Spanish and #English but I will be speaking only English in this account

Made a little tool that helps with ICE report sightings:

It just helps you fill out a template and it's basically a clone of this https://salute.kyr.digital/en/ but it works offline.

I'm hoping it's useful for ICE watch groups on Delta Chat, but it can also be used to help make a report that you can copy and send to Signal.

Delta Chat is awesome and the in-chat mini-apps open a hell lot of social developments in emergencies, without needing a public blockable/censurable website or app stores that can reject your app
