I've been using #duckduckgo as a search engine for years and really love it but I'm starting to notice it might be pretty bad at filtering AI written web pages.
Sometime searches only produce a list of Ai written articles and going through the load of them is a frustrating loss of time.
I just tried such research in Goggle and the results are much better (first results are human written...). Aow!

About noai.duckduckgo.com - DuckDuckGo Help Pages

Starting your searches on noai.duckduckgo.com works the same as duckduckgo.com, just with AI features turned off.

@Kletskous thx a lot! Didn't know about it! Unfortunately this just disable the AI‑Assisted Answers and AI‑Generated Images. It does nothing (or not enough) to filter AI-generated articles (text). Sometimes entire websites look so artificials it's getting unreal!
Ex: https://iheartgoldens.com/about/ ... looks like it's only made to redirect people to a nice session of Amazon shopping...Loads of articles, brand new website (2026)...Such a waste of everything.

@Kletskous into it! Trying Startpage, SearXNG and Mojeek (never heard before...seems interesting!) just today. Thx!

@Disreputable_Craftsman Thanks and hope you keep me posted. Still not sure what to use myself in all this sloppy AI-mess.

@Kletskous @Disreputable_Craftsman I think they all fall for it to some extent. Iʼm a big Mojeek user and they have their fair share. However, they do listen to user feedback. Also Bing (which powers DDG, Yahoo, Qwant, Startpage, etc.) has recently tanked, repeating what happened to it in 2022. Iʼm certain that made the “AI” content more dominant.

Bing plummets again

I was pretty shocked to see, once again, the number of sites on a site: search for Lucire and Autocade plummet on Bing, into the 50s for each site. I thought: is it because we were blocking so many Microsoft servers (which come up a lot—more than Google ones—for hacking and scraping)? But a quick

@jackyan Interesting; thank you! @Disreputable_Craftsman
@Kletskous You’re most welcome! It’s in my interests to see original content found … so I keep an eye on these things (as best I can). @Disreputable_Craftsman

@Kletskous Thank you! I witnessed this in 2024 … though in theory I knew it to be true. At least one disinformation article about me per day went up for nine months, all written by LLMs. Eventually, those articles degraded as they were taking inputs from earlier versions. For a while I had said that strong brands could weather this because they are the only ones that can direct people to them. @Disreputable_Craftsman
