@georgetakei right
but have you considered that Markwayne Mullin is an evil, bloodthirsty, bad faith ghoul?
'We're not at war with Iranian people, we just decided to bomb a few of their schools and hospitals and murder a few thousand Iranian civilians... oh, and kill their leader.'
If it's not war, charge them with murder
No no no you don't understand, to get peace you need war. Right?
Right?
Anyhoo, it's all so sickening and scary, I lately often feel depressed, afraid, and stressed.
@kirbygoulet it actually wasn't because only congress can rename it and they didn't do that. So you can keep calling it the Department of Defense just like you can keep calling it the Gulf of Mexico.
not a war?
@georgetakei haven't declared war on Iran because only Congress can do that, and Congress is dead.
@georgetakei If a Nazi bombs anything of mine with so much as a firecracker I would consider that to be in itself a declaration of war and treat it as such.
Also-the fact that the US has bombed the homes of known left activists in Tehran so as to favor monarchists means the US is in fact at war with the people of Iran not just the government. So does the bombing of a girl's school with a weapon that could easily have been targetted somewhere else.
@georgetakei Mullin said that? It sounds like the sort of dialog you'd hear in Dr. Strangelove.

Of course it's not a 'War'...
It's simply the use of WMD - Weapons of Mass Distraction...
@georgetakei You know as well as I do that if you call it a "war" that there are globally accepted rules of war, and the current view by some countries is that as long as you don't call it a war, your opponent's forces don't get the rights they'd get under a war. No war crimes, no prisoners of war, no Geneva convention.
Not saying it makes sense, or that it's actually going to hold. But it matches what they do.
@georgetakei According to Wikipedia the last formal Declaration Of War by the US happened 1942 against Axis-aligned Hungary, Bulgaria, and Romania.
