Give Ukraine the Nimitz, fully loaded, they will figure it out.

Also, I build things, play music, and write software. Have too many things.

And Justice for the Epstein survivors ! Demand accountability.

I can accept no rationalization for anything other than a NO vote on Section 702 of the FISA reauthorization.

I don't have any kids that I know of, but all the people who played these games on these platforms ran software I helped create. I could tell some stories...
A few years ago, I kind of volunteered to be the cyber security compliance expert in my company.
Probably one of the best things I've done as far as career development, and technical learning.
Similarly I once volunteered to be the HDMI/HDCP compliance expert.
And I actually hate rules. Violate them all the time. But I want to know what they are.
Also, engineers need rules to constrain their solution space, it inspires creativity, efficiency, and opportunities for chaos.

I have maintained good relations with the birds in my area, and if they gained the unusual size of their ancestors, most of them would be my friends. Even the Crows. My Hummingbird nectar feeder is full.

But the Squirrels would be a big problem. @effinbirds

So the plan was, use a 1/4 inch router bit in a drill press to create 4 pilot holes in the right locations. Ugly holes. But parallel, and perpendicular to the plane of the panel.

Then expand those with a 9/32 inch drill bit, because the standoffs need that.

Then, using 2-part marine epoxy, glue 4 threaded standoff posts into those holes.

Now, I have perfectly located, threaded screw holes.

Additive, Subtractive, and Reactive Engineering.

I had the box and panel, but the holes were off by 1/8 to 1/4 inch, and not enough spare material to just drill new holes.

After exploring several ways to hack this together, I decided on a plan, because I had threaded standoff posts from past activities...and some epoxy...and some tools.

I had a box, a switch panel, and misaligned holes. No easy way to make it right.

Here is a DIY story. I've been doing this shit for 55 years...

Start with a need/goal, iterate through solutions, finally deciding on a palette of available materials, methods, tools, skills, and madness. Then just do it.

I love living in the woods. I'm sitting on the "throne" in my house, and a guy knocks on my door to ask if he can buy the 20ft culvert pipe in my yard.
