How does your MC talk? Describe their voice and speech.

What a rabbit hole answer. Took me 3+ hours to dig something up as an example.😅

Kira has something smooth and smokey, a hard edge at times but an incredible depth I imagine her some where between Jenifer Hale, she has done several female protagonists in different video games one of them was female commander Shepard in in the Mass Effect Trilogy, which is one of the original sources Kira resulted from (her name Originally was Kira Shepard and she was my Player avatar in the series) and Flavia Vinzens the German Female V from Cyberpunk 2077.

⬅️ fire she brings to the character, the mix between temperament and quieter moments is exactly what I think Arkham is in her core.

For Ash I imagine her a) to be able to assume any voice after a short sample but b) a lot like Edit from Mass Effect too. Played by Tricia Helfer (English cast) here in a dialogue with Fem Shep Jenifer Hale from earlier in this answer.

What does the way your MC talks reveal about them?

Kira: That she is used of giving commands but also that she cares for her crew.

Arkham: That she is as fast with her mouth as she is with her piloting skills but sometimes a bit faster than her brain. She has a lot of passion.

Ashlei: Well she is an A.I. on board a space ship. She struggles with concepts like "I" because when does a program become a person?

If your antagonist played video games, what would be their favorite kind?

Well nothing about Ayanami is known despite their name (AI, Antagonist Infernale). So I guess it would be chess or something like Domino Day simulator but I guess that's something that whoever is behind it may enjoy more in reality than virtually.*

Ariaene doesn't remember well but as a trained soldier they has angood ability in 3D shooter games.

Biological Mother & Father died at the friendship station catastrophe.
Bigger and smaller sister died at the same location at the same time.
2./adoptive Father K.I.A. on mission for the Alliance.
'Twin'-Sister declared dead by command after mission went down badly.
Last surviving family member her 2./adoptive Mother - "The Ice Queen." It's complicated really complicated. The ice queen is Terran Minister for outside affairs, has a some would say dark history others would say the perfect example of a reformed Union citizen and a damn good "(sub) zero to hero story."

Arkham: Father died in Alliance Service, Mother died later after Arkham fled her oppressiveness & lived on the streets on a close rim Union colony which had hard problems with upholding Union standards. Her mother died relative recently & Arkham hates that she can't rub her own success into her face.

What’s your MC’s family like?

Ash as an A.I. has no family to speak of, the scientist that developed and raised her could be considered her family but only one survived the attack on the research outpost on which she was developed.
To a degree she considers the leading female scientist to be a mother figure, her basic unmodified voice setting is basically the voice of that scientist. She has spent most of her active run time before installation into the Ghoz'Tarc with said scientist. Now she considers her Crew something like a family and she is their protector. But a real family like bond only develops as she and Commander Knox merge more involuntarily than willingly.

Her and the commanders/captains relationship becomes symbiotic/parasitic. It's hard to pin down what this merge actually does from funny side notes like the Ghoz'Tarc's Strawberry tasting better or not so funny ones like the Captain becoming colder.

Antagonist POV: What advice would you give to people 10 years younger than you?

Ayanami (Antagonist Infernale): "Dear 'friend' you should know, you cannot protest the Eltaryn, ignoring them does not work, they may have roughly humanoid forms but all they think of is killing of everything you know. The Alliance is a good beginning but the Union sleeps a risky slumber & let them sleep through their own extinction. I know the truth, I have seen it first hand, once they arrived in a location they do not hesitate, they seem endless & relentless, killing everyone you know, destroying everything you know. Make no mistake they captured people alive but even I can't imagine for what purposes. We know nothing about their physiology or their mental capabilities other than that they are perfect for war & stand out against almost everything in nature with their blue color.
Do not retreat, kill them!"

Have you invented any words/sayings/swears etc. for your story?

Most prominent definitely is SWEX! It's a curse instead of f*ck or the German sch**ße, but als as Swexer it's origin (from sex worker exploiter).
It took a life of its own and people running with it.
Don't swex me! - Cut the bullsh*t!
Swex off! - P*ss off
Swexer means all kinds of not so nice names for someone.

I have a whole document about sayings of different worlds curses etc but I am not so happy with it so I don't like to share anything from it...😅

A very common insult between Terrans that don't like a certain behaviors/acts is "How human of you."
Something especially the still calling themselves humans in the Rim territory do not appreciate.

Disclaimer since Terran standard and Union Standard are completely artificially introduced languages all writing about it and using certain terms boils down to the best translation in our time languages.

What does the opening chapter of your story reveal about the world it’s set in?

Kira is polyamorous.
Kira has a rebellious streak.
Vegas still exists somehow but it looks very different now. I may change it in the future drafts.
A bit of world setting.
What a Talith looks like, partly.
What Bethosians look like, partly.
What a Holo is.
A flight from London to Vegas only takes 3 hours, including take off, landing getting into and out the outskirts, it's the future baby (transforms into a blond tech bro, with a royal blue suit, pointing two finger guns at the reader smiling a way to dryed up toothpaste looking smile).

Not necessary in that order transformation does not happen in the book that's just because I had a weird dream about such a thing.

Where was your latest writing session? How did it go?

At home.

For Star Ryde it was November. Only fixing some misspelling in the meantime and making updates to my Who is Who and Vox Populi files that accompany the main WIP.

I have so many distracting ideas for the WIP lately. Different times (not time travel that's a beast I don't try to handle)

Got heavily distracted and raged our by the DND video game Baldursgate 3. (Long story...)

Wrote a background story for two of my currently existing DND characters inspired by the Erotic Musings, of last December week because one is a half elv and the prompt contained busy elves,
that aimed at being smutty but now is to heavy handed in my opinion... Well maybe I shouldn't have named the piece Tears of a Kingdom just to make an joke about one character being named Za'el Darr being basically Rouge Princess Zelda from the Legend of Zelda.

If your MC lived your antagonist’s life, what would they be like?

That wouldn't be so different.
MC - Main character
AI - Antagonist Infernale
AJ - Antagonist Junior

Kira (MC) & Ariæne (AJ) both are soldiers, both lost a lot. What they lost and how they survived made them who they are so in that case it would just be a skin change but not the "oh that would change everything" some might expect.

Ayanami and Ashlei could easily be swapped after all Ayanami (AI) is never seen and only interacts through "filtering" media, like loudspeakers, mails, holograms, with changing voices, appearances etc and many of their heches believe that Ayanami is indeed an Artifical Intelligence.

Only one that seemingly has no equalizer on the Antagonists side is Arkham or not yet. After all AJ's personal 'assistance' has no real role atm.

* The core is the mixed fusion chamber of the Ghoz'Tarc's energy systems, one of many different power delivery methods the ship has. It has a sort of pumping rhythm equal to a heartbeat but faster.

Your antagonist gets a call or message from their mother. How do they respond?

Ayanami: "Hello mum how are you?"
Tracking the call. "Whe haven't talked in aeon's." Triangulating the exact location. "So what can I do for you?" Pressing a button. "Of course I can it, I can absolutely, no problem. But first tell me about whats up with your neighbor?"
At which exact moment someone kicks in the door of the office of the scam callers, knocking them out and pulling the unconscious bodies into a black hover without markings and a rotating registration "plate."

You can be a very moral person that doesn't make you a good person, if your personal morals are rotten to the core. To put that into a very easy perspective.

Donald Trump, Elon Musk, Vladimir Putin, J.K. Rowling, are most likely very 'moral' 'persons' sadly they are also bad people and their morals aren't worth the breath you would need to talk about that. Not a single one or them or their agents has ethical based morals. The best we could do with them send them to Mars to something something Terra forming.

Do you make use of weather in your story? If so, how?

Rarely space has weather in a sense but it snot like planetary weather at all. It's mostly just stuff that happens Humans tend to call like something else.

Like this 💚 this is no heart, it doesn't do heart stuff, no pumping, no beating, no blood involved. But it's a heart and it depiction involves stuff that can lead to our heart doing more heart stuff.

If you ask weather like cycles of physical chemical interaction they are possible in space but rarely comparable to real weather on earth.
The German word for fog is Nebel, the German word Nebel with the same article, der (Nebel), refers to nebula in space. Nebel can also be mist, not the German Mist that would be crap, quite literally.

What I want to say sun storms are no rain storms, a nebula is not foggy mist in London, and so one.
Planet side it's different and planet depending. On Venus the wind is deadly*.

If in the middle of the story your MC discovered a foundling, what would they do with it?

If they do, first make sure it's healthy, read it's genes, look for a match in the wherever they are database, look up it's parents/caregivers, look for recent information & make sure the child is returned, if parents/caregivers found to be dead, inform Union Social services & provide further aid. Depending on who found the child in which situation it might be necessary to release the person off duty. Not the first soldier in the Union went home earlier as expected as they found a child in the field. In case you find a male Bethosian that's when shit hits the fan.
The Bethosiane are founding member of the Union but there whole society & political system is a complex matriarch entanglement. Basically for every exact 999 female Bethosians one male is born. So they are treated like priced possessions for the society.

Your MC has to start a new business with their current skills. What do they do?

Well nobody has to, at least in the Union. Universal Base Income & regulated prices/upper income limits let most people do what ever they like. Thus the whole Union is in a sort of personal paradise situation. People follow their heart not the money.
But for the question. Kira would probably switch into Union military. same job different focus than the Alliance (Alliance is the official attack & defense force of the Union, while the Union military is more like a true defense force, supporting civilians & civilian infrastructure).

So for Kira it would be very clear, if not possible maybe she would open a gym & train people in self defense.

Arkham would go full blown space racing, maybe a restaurant on the side (after all she owns a closed one in London).

Ashlei would have a hard time as an AI. They aren't people after all...

If traumatic events happen, do your characters process it on page for longer than a chapter?

As long as the characters needs to process what happened. Some are quicker than others, some focus differently and of course it depends on what happens.

In my current DND champaign my character is a focused individual, they brushes it off on a surface level but works through it throughout the time and it occasionally comes up.

In Star Ryde most characters carry a not so small package, some seem to be unbothered by it others change their habits ore reactions.
It depends deeply on the character and what happened.

What is your current project teaching you, craft-wise or personally?

I stand always in my own way be it as my own critic or as a pro in crastination. I don't know where it stems from but somehow always everythings else seems more important... Unlike real important stuff. And the same is true for creative things.

Is it difficult for you if your partner or closest friends don't enjoy books?

Not really. I don't read much anymore myself (shitty kombo of habits, money and health).

It's rather difficult if they enjoy work from bad persons like J.K. Rowling...

Because I know that my main and at the time only partner and my best friends love Harry Potter but unlike J.K. don't hate trans* people for barely existing and J.K. pouring all her Money into anti trans* anti pride and directly into inhumane causes like the trans* bathroom ban in the UK... I would love them to have an more easy time enjoying their life without supporting an awful person.

I myself know how this feels as one of my favorite authors went from cat detective stories toe anti gay propaganda.

Also it would be more difficult depending on which sort of books they read... I never again trust a person that says they read 'mein Kampf' for educational reasons.

If your MC and SC each got 3 wishes from a genie, would any of their wishes cause problems for the other?

Probably for the Djin.
The crew of the Ghoz'Tarc are 40 people & they all would love their turn, including Ash as the AI we are at 41 individuals, the main wish would be to stop the Eltaryn to Attack let's say that 41 times the same wish with different details.

Remaining 82 different follow up wishes. How many uses of a wish fulfilling device in a week can such an entity handle? Is their something like a power draining effect on the Djin. I guess a Monkey paw would simply break. Does it run out? Flapping in the wind like a wet bed sheet completely discharged?

Also people would use forcefields to hold it accountable, if the wishes turn out to be answered intentionally bad. After all magic doesn't exist so it's base physics. The Djin probably would end up in a research facility not necessarily of the Union.
