Got *dammit* I'm tired of alleged anti-fascists telling other anti-fascists that their action won't work.

Wake the fuck up, people.

1) *No* single action will be enough.
2) *Every* single action counts.

As far as I'm concerned, wasting time arguing with people on your own side about what is the one true action is *counter*-revolutionary behavior.

Stop cos-playing amateur-hour armchair analyst and start taking actions and supporting the actions of others.

Vote? Yes.
Simple sabotage? Yes.
Take it to court? Yes.
Write or act or sing or make? Yes.
March in the streets? Yes.
General strike? Yes.
Record? Yes.

And countless others I can't think of right now.

*None* of these will be enough.

Every *one* of them will be a part of it.

Resist!

There's an angle from which it is comical how many folks responded by 'splaining why their favorite action is the best action and other actions are inferior.

Perhaps the greatest indictment of our worldwide educational systems: the extremely poor quality of reading comprehension.

@GeePawHill find a way to just stop traffic???? YES.
@GeePawHill Also the idea that "hey, I have collected some traffic cones and signs and bottle caps and if some of us got together we could do some creative things, what do you think?????"
@GeePawHill Yeah, the purity tests and infighting have got to effing stop. Every effort counts!

@arisummerland @GeePawHill I agree, but expect the other side to paint you for all the stupid actions others did. And possibly false flag stupidities.

Ernst von Rath, Reichskristallnacht, and Herschel Grynszpan come to mind. As a classical example.

But yes, infighting is a problem, especially on the left, and I really don't have a solution for that.

@GeePawHill Very true. Keep on doing the things.
@GeePawHill I need to make this an actual bumper sticker
@GeePawHill I intend to do at least three of those.
@GeePawHill
If you could sum it up in one action, it would be solidarity. But that alone is a whole bunch of actions.

@jaykass @GeePawHill “talk to people”

I was surprised this morning by how many people I talked to don’t know there’s an action planned for this weekend.

@grammasaurus @jaykass @GeePawHill A few weekend events in my area were planned just yesterday.
This is a fluid situation. Talk it up! Spread the word!
@jaykass One act of solidarity: Make noise, so your neighbour will know theyr'e not alone. A kind smile, a lapel-pin or a march is an act of solidarity.
@GeePawHill

@GeePawHill and you forgot the most impactful one:

- vote with your money every day? yes

@GeePawHill thank you for encouraging those of us who feel powerless.

@GeePawHill

anyone who thinks all you have to do is vote is a fool

but by that very same token, anyone who insists loudly on doing everything *except* vote:

you should view such voices with deep suspicion as to whether or not they are a real leftist

agent provocateurs are real

voting is just a tool in a repertoire. a tactic amongst other tactics. even if just for vandalism/ sabotage

so for anyone to forsake it with dramatic displays of emotion?

don't you find that rather interesting?

@GeePawHill The steady water drop hollows out the stone!
@GeePawHill Start impeachment proceedings, maybe enough right thinkers on historical GOP members to make a difference.

@GeePawHill results coming from contrainteligence and a bunch of annoying amd loud action.

If dont work, push harder until do

@GeePawHill Run for Office, Phone the Whitehouse line and switchboard, display signs in your yard, build community by attending city, town and local events, Be present.

@GeePawHill

Im a voter and a GOTV sort. Glad to be included. Wish other online environments felt like they understood that its important to not give up.

@GeePawHill

Why will you vote?

Seems like anti-fascists need to adopt the "yes, and…" technique of improvisational comedy. Fighting fascism isn't comedy (not always), but it certainly is improvisational.

@GeePawHill if you like staying at home for some reason, here are some helpful things you can do:

- consume + critique + write in + tell your friends about local news coverage of protests and government shootings. Praise the good, shame the bad.
- same as above but for "apolitical" coverage. youtubers and podcasters make a political comment even though they cover video games? PRAISE the good, nobody ever praises those people. shame the bad, gently. if you're too harsh they will block you.
- call your reps in government. CALL not email. CALLing takes effort to receive, emails go into a hole. https://5calls.org/
- take NLG legal observer training. there is a particular need for at-home protest coordinators (documenting info from protests for when cops violate people's rights, for future lawsuits). Few people want to do this. Commitment is a few hours during a protest.
- support (money + eyeballs + retweet) news coverage that speaks truth to power
- evaluate what you and your social group supports. withdraw funding from groups against your values. write and call in to those groups and explain why you're pulling out.
- ask your friends and family to do all of the above and show up to protest, even if you can't

5 Calls

Spend 5 minutes. Make 5 calls. Make your voice heard.

@GeePawHill
the same for the so called left in Europe
but as long as they quarrel they need not act...
@GeePawHill Do what you can, when you can, however you can.

@GeePawHill There is a reasonable chance some of them are bad actors posing as anti-fascists to sow dissent.

That said, don't do the work of fascists for them.

@GeePawHill i mean i do understand critiques of people trying to make it into a fun and games show and convincing others that it is such
It then gets covered up under some ineffective event where people have fun and go home.
So i disagree with the singing and making and some of the marching.
I think most important is collaborative groups performing material action
@GeePawHill Reminds me of a scene from the Life of Brian where they are arguing iver what to call themselves...

@GeePawHill I agree. The left has far too many islands of ideological purity where they are willing to fight and die rather than deal with fascism

@GeePawHill Gee, you are ignoring one simple fact! A majority of American voters elected this man to be our President. It's Democracy! 40% + , when asked today, still say that he is doing a good job! Imagine that!

What is needed is education, people need to understand Law and Order and what it provides. Trump should never should have been elected. There's your problem and solution.

@GeePawHill
I am reading Srdja Popovic's book. He has some insights on this.

@GeePawHill

100% with you.

I'll also mention that I've started including "immediately muting any account that does poop on other people's actions".
