I’m not trans. As far as I know, my kids aren’t at the moment. Nobody in my family is. None of my good friends are. I don’t prescribe medication for gender affirming care. I don’t specifically treat folks for gender dysphoria. So why do I give a fuck?

You don’t punch down. There’s no transgender machine producing trans judiciary and trans politicians and trans PACs to come for my cisgender. There are trans folks being discriminated against, outed, beaten, jailed, and killed. I hate bullies.

The Australian government (mostly LNP) in continued escalation of its Neoliberal capitalist push cut massive amounts of funding to its premier science research institute. This effectively privatises any research for-profit-only.

The CSIRO have developed proof-of-concept quantum batteries, and are now "seeking interest from potential development partners." ie, private investment for the future of these batteries.

My mom’s 87 and in a nursing facility. She loves adult coloring books and has covered the walls of her room with her work. She especially likes animal designs and gives them names and stories. I keep her supplied with books, but she wants DONKEYS. And I haven’t found her a book with a good donkey design. i really cannot express how little real activism looks like people's stereotypes of activism. i need help with a ton of things and none of it involves being out on the street marching and/or risking arrest, knocking on people's doors, donating money, and arguing on social media

there was one (1) very specific banner-making request that went unfulfilled this week for lack of capacity (RIP the "free portland free dc" sign for the spirit-thorns home opener tonight) but that's it for standard activism tasks
