@rstevens I think many of us are bad at the perma-stuff, honestly, in part because thereās often dependencies (the spice rack requires a trip to the hardware store, frex) but mostly because we can usually āwork aroundā it. I try to use similar āslow grindā strategies, like asking myself to do 30min *towards* perma-unfucking something, rather than expecting myself to complete it and check it off my to-do list (which explains why I have a word for that whole class of tasks).
@rstevens But yeah, there is a really profound idea here about how entropy has and will always have the upper hand in the universe, and life consists of little islands of complex, self-organizing order that work to hold that grim chaos at bay, if only for a while.

And it's inspired me to oh so slowly reduce what I have in my own home, to reduce the chore for my kids. That's still an ongoing effort.
