When we offer care and support to people facing any of life’s myriad challenges, we lift ourselves up at the same time.

One of my other favorite gifts my family gave me? The most recent @scalzi book.

Oh! And my kid gave me a book about a French Resistance leader Madame Fourcade.

A new study suggests that #dementia may be driven in part by faulty blood flow in the brain.

Researchers found that losing a key lipid causes blood vessels to become overactive,
disrupting circulation and starving brain tissue.

When the missing molecule was restored, normal blood flow returned.

This discovery opens the door to new treatments aimed at fixing vascular problems in dementia.

Ooooooh! I really love this one. Gorgeous!

These gorgeous inks were in my stocking this morning, and I had to play. I also used one of the new inks on watercolor paper.

Bay Area: any good sources that show where roads are flooded/unsafe to drive? Last night I drove home from Berkeley and there were definitely parts of the drive where roads should have been closed but weren’t.

You'd think after publishing 9 novels in 13 years, I'd have made my peace w/ the need to promote them.

I'm still conflicted re: anything that smacks of self-promo. I believe in my work. I'm proud of what I write & very much want to share it with readers.

But the work doesn't magically announce itself to the world.

So if you're looking for SF&F books that are earnest, honest, compelling & character focused, give them a try?

Is there any good software or method for designing crosstitch patterns? I would like to try this, but don't know where tot start.
I did find some sites that will transform pictures into patterns, but they were no good.
