Which of your characters has the backstory that was your favourite to create?

I can not choose. Backstorys happen to me. They manifest rapidly with various degrees of depth.
Give me a stupid idea for a Character concept and I will 'summon' something out of thin air.
I have played several dozens of RPG games including Superheroes like Marvel, DC, Image, plenty of others.
Dead Spys, thieves, rogues, inquisitors, edge runners, Star Trek Characters, Vampires, Vampire Hunters, Barbarians, Mages, Paladins, Fighters, and that's only the PNP RPGs...
Over several Skyrim versions I played 49 Dovakins. Fallout 3, NV, 4 and 76 have so many freaking vault dwellers I can't count, CP2077 has around 9 V.'s. Each of them with at least one page of Backstory.
The Ghoz'Tarc crew has at least 25 of its 40 members roughly outlined.
Not to mention historical figures in Star Ryde.
Their counterparts for Star Tyde (the surfer cruise parallel universe).
I simply can't say.

Silas Crosby: As much as I would love to see my late husband again or talk to them I wouldn't. AI programming to create a husk of a loved one, that is build to sound like them, is a toxic betrayal, aimed at vulnerability of people that lost someone & luckily outlawed in the Union. The dead are dead and part of grieving is to learn to keep the memories and plant them around the hole they left in your heart."

Mondira Ramann falling into kinda slurred speak pattern that is usual on Eodin: "What dy'ou meen, ifi cood?" She opens a Menu on her Holo that looks like an installation folder. "Here I stopd'er, that's GrA.nnI. the A.I. of my Bignana." Ifi ever feel 'lone i could ask'er or tawk to'er well at home.
With more sharp pronounciation: The Alliance counts such A.I.s a security ➡️

Is there a noticeable change in the seasons in your WIP’s universe?

This depends heavily of planets and the ecosystems that evolved their (if one evolved, the number of dead rocks and gaseous bubbles is significantly higher than habitable rocks*).
Different planets have different biomranges, they have different distances to their stars, their stars are different, their rotation might differ significantly from what we now from today's Earth. So yeah it noticable at most places.

*There are still some dead rocks that are inhabited by very bold people but they often life out of their greenhouses while the rest of the rock is just dead as ever before.

Have you ever created a SC that you later wished was the MC?

I have constantly reused background additions to my RPG characters as a playable character in different settings.

Some might even bleed into my own SciFi universe in a form...

I have several minor appearances of seemingly unimportant characters that are ment to show up later some time if I expand the universe deeper of my WIP of Star Ryde.

Arkham and Ashlei are MC in my mind but they a bit like tertiary and secondary MC's. I want to focus on them while Kira is like the red string through the timeline.
Anika never really was ment to show up as a living character, nor was her mother. Yet here they are in the WIP and even having allocated arcs to themselves...

A lot of my Video game characters have ties to each other by some means.

Let's call it the Anna Saultron Extended Multiverse or A.S.E.M.😬

If pumpkin isn't a cover up name for anything, no they wouldn't, they wouldn't even suggest it like this, because pumpkin as a word doesn't exist anymore in the Terran Standard language and the plant isn't the same anymore if we don't take some offshoot colonies into account.

Imagine This: The zipper of your MC’s costume breaks. How would others react to seeing them in a Halloween costume on November 1st?

Their are rarely zippers involved for good quality costumes my characters would wear & Halloween didn't survive to the 24. Century.
But for the sake of it.
Kira would probably run around as a character from some ancient SciFi since she has a certain fondness of them. So expect her to run around in an Original 1:1 Replica of a Season 1 Star Trek TNG Uniform, cursing the inability to walk more than five steps before it rubs off skin at certain areas. Or as Commander Shepard from Mass Effect. Darth Vader or so. Since transformation Helmets are a usual thing in Star Ryde she wouldn't have a y breathing issues. Others wouldn't think to much of it but break her free once they know that she is stuck in that outfit at least on board or in any Union/Alliance facilities.

Arkham wouldn't wear much special. In the beginning she would never even attempt to join a costume party for some social reasons but also for her hyper sensitivity. Her usual solution is to wear as much bare skin as possible.
So she probably would use something like her Bathrobe out of hyper anti allergic material, which would still be a gamble for her skin, and pull of a cheap Emperor Palpatine from Star Wars after searching through Kiras ancient Space themed movies.
Or maybe if she finds the right material as 7 of 9 from Star Trek Voyager. So people would assume some sort of movie or NIN video shot of low budget (otherwise like Kira)

Ashlei or more her body the Ghoz'Tarc has Holo projectors, a chameleon hull so seing a ~180 meter long ship flying throu space as a historical building or a SciFi/Sailing ship would raise a lot of eyebrows. And the alarm at the Union/Alliance.

How would you describe your MC’s face?

Not very precise. Kira has a scar over her one eye from her forehead to the eyebrow and from underneath her eye to the middle of the cheek, (I'm not sure anymore which one I think it was the right one), her hair is in an asymmetrical bob with under cut, dyed blood red. She has some piercings in each of her ears. The eye with the scar appears dark blue to violet while her other eye is brightly blue.

Arkham has green blue hair and eyes which gives her look something fierce, which makes people think twice before they attempt to lift her up without consent (tiny person problems).

Ashlei aka the Ghoz'Tarc could be mistaken for the Normandy SR2 from Mass Effect in a brief glance but her usual black hull with blood red and bright green patterns make a very distinct difference. Imagine a very angry and aggressive looking ship.

How does your antagonist like to unwind and relax?

AI: On very rare occasions the channels on which AI communicates keep silent but not for long. No hench ever waited longer than 15 Minutes for an answer ever. We can assume AI sits in a well spun net of information and leverage like a giant spider in a web.

AJ: Ariaene has a lot of notebooks in their quarter, on board the Nethrazier, hand written notes to find memory trigger and to not document all digital, in the hope to keep track before the sleep comes and stay independent from easier to fake recordings.
Otherwise AJ has no real change to wind down, sleep most likely leads to loosing their memories. To much relaxation invites sleep.
A few Nethrazier's quarters are luxuriously large & even have full water baths but AJ actually hasn't used theirs in a long time to relax, but someone seem to have recently.

"Chief Crosby," Ash's voice came from some speaker: "I registered your tonal shifted voice. Are you okay?"

Silas swallowed: "Sorry Ash, I just couldn't handle my emotions."

"Do you wish to talk to someone?"

"No I'm fine, I just needed to let out some steam."

"I do not register higher humidity in this room? Venting the room to lower its moisture levels is not advisable in outer space."

Silas chuckled involuntary it just was such an childlike answer.

All surviving Lifeforms have at least sufficient enough chemistry to not die from it

Yes, I blatantly ignore the real intent of the question because I don't like to think about Relationships in that way. Different yes but not labeled and ranked. I don't do it in life so I don't want to do it with my characters either.

And lets be honest: "What's your best child? Your best pet? Your best left tiny toe or pinky finger. Your best Trashpandateam*/Racoonsquad rampaging through your garbage disposal. For me it's in the same line of thinking.

A weird sensation ran over her skin, it came through the seat.
"Ash what was that?"

"Unknown, an energy spike ran through my system. I lost local inputs."

"What?"

"I can not register the Captain, I can not connect to her. I lost contact to her quarters, my local instance got compromised. I can not access the room or data from it."

"Ash what is going on?" Arkham jumped out of the seat running towards the CIC/Bridge.

"Assumption, something happened to the Captain or her quarters."

Arkham passed the Bridge staff who looked puzzled as she ran by and heard Ash explanations.

Silas sprang into action running behind Arkham. "Emergency alert Captain's quarters, med, sec, NOW."

What sort of antagonist are you writing? (See @floofpaldi post for ideas or clarification.)

A.I. the mysterious puppeteering force in the background, motivation unclear, goals unclear, identity unclear. Could be evil but doesn't act like that, like villainous monologues but never Resorts to villainous deeds. Only communications are done by electronics, speaker, holographics, text messages.

A.J. the relatable one. Flawed suffering from partial memory loss/memory fragmentation, has an uncanny ability to escape but doesn't seem to have any super secret powers at all. Could be your average day Terran.

Both fight the Eltaryn so they are at least "not evil" from the perspective of the Union.

Tell us about a source of misery for your MC.

Kira: doesn't want others to suffer her tragedies, if she could change the Universe into a nicer place with less drama, tragedy & everything that can burden a soul, she absolutely would. She has suffered through loss, a lot of it, she doesn't want to be alone. She doesn't want others to be alone.

Arkham: hates to loose, it doesn't matter what it is. She feels her worth is tied to her performance.
Which is why her relationship to Kira messes her up to a degree. How can this person love you if you aren't the best? She fears to loose Kira either to other partners or if she dies. Arkham can be jealous & blatantly open to a hurtful degree, but it pains her if she actually hurts someone.

Ashlei: Not doing what she is programmed to do. Supporting the crew and protect them. If she would feel in our perimeters the loss of the Captain would have crushed her.

J. She loves to make others happy. Cuddle, even naked but never sexual, she is the big spoon, squeezing you gently, touching you carefully, even kiss you if you want to but thats it. She & Kira used to cuddle a lot as the thing with Tanya went sideways. As Kira & Anika had their little Fallout, as Kira, Rose & Talisa went different ways.
J. even had a cuddle club going on at the academy, as she has with parts of the Ghoz'Tarc crew.
J. also feels joy if she can help someone in any way, being it sweeping you gently from your feet & carrying you to bed or pulling you out of the freaking dirt hole you hid in as the Eltaryn or Pirate attacks began, handing you fresh water.
Its the other side of the tank she is on the battlefield, the dumb joking, animal meat eating, grenade throwing, rampaging, loud hulk with medical training & brutal efficiency.

Antagonist Infernale (AI): "What concerns me, is Terra, Khalit, Morrakhar, Betosia, Asza und Trellwa Prime. The core of the Union isn't as stable as one might think, but i don't loose sleep over it, instead I forge them into the sturdy core we need.

Ariaene Johnsen (AJ/Antagonist Junior): "Every evening I face the horror that I most likely will not remember anything from today. So what do you think... Waking up not knowing where you are, who you are exactly, only remembering one thing for certain the shit that haunts you in your dreams. What keeps me up at night, stims and not sleeping, to cling to some memories rather than none..."

Tell about your MC’s stress behaviors.

Kira: it depends on what type of stress and how much of it.
Her usual go to's are more training, less eating more EQuil consumption, less sleep.
Positive perceived stress, she can get into a flow of happiness and accomplishment while focusing on important stuff, a feel of energy.
Negative perceived stress, burning eyes, head aches, sore muscles from too much excessive training, hard core focus on her weaker perceived abilities, no solid food at all. A feel of powerlessness.
Both states aren't really healthy long term but can be very different.

Arkham: she doesn't perceive stress as positive she gets hardcore fixated of ironing out problems. As her self esteem directly relates to her piloting skills this can end up in extreme long flight sessions on stimulating stuff, simulator sessions and later even dance training.

Ash: resorts to Filemanagement.

Tell us about your MC’s mannerisms when they’re content.

Kira ia a bit quirkier as if she would if she was not content. If everything goes as expected or better. She also really appreciates it if the crew succeeds on a mission and highlights good work. So she will give praise accordingly and will more be more "relaxed energetic."

Arkham jokes more and is a bit more open about herself. The most noticeable difference her smile and fewer swearing words (if stuff goes really down the drain she would be beeped like R2-D2 in US Media... Makes you think what a nasty droid the little can is ...).

Ash: well Ash's voice may sound a tiny bit more alive. It's hard to tell with an A.I. that prefers to not mimic Terran speech patterns exactly.

Especially AI companies that are unwilling to even care an nano meter to give the illusion of decency or ask if someone would like to help develop an AI, in a fair level eye to eye base & instead just consume everything they can stick their greedy hands on. More like specific not to work on...
Generic Fantasy. Don't get ne wrong I can get joy out of elves, vampires, zombies and Orks and there are some good fantasy stories out there. But only few Fantasy stories captured my interest.
Nintendo's Zelda series, the Record of the Lodoss Wars, Terry Pratchett's Discworld, Pirates of the Caribbean, The least Battle of the Orks, a weird story where doomed Orks discover a military stash of the US army through a dragons lair... The old Tolkien formula only works in very specific circumstances for me. I also really like medival stories or old folklore but as soon something like Tolkien is referenced as similar... I just loose most of my interest.😅
Thus I probably wouldn't write such a story.

MC POV: Who is one person you would never want to see again? Why?

Kira: "Space is vast and we are still in a war ... It doesn't seem so bad in the core but you stop thinking about such things really quickly and focus on the people that you want to see again... Or maybe it's just me and the recent loss of Anika..."

Arkham: "The one person that earned that spot died recently. Thanks for nothing mom..."

A.S.H.L.E.I.: I haven't had the pleasure yet to meet a truly despicable person. Some not so sophisticated artificial intelligences make me feel ... angry? Sad? I am not sure that this is enough to not want to meet them again.

Kira has multiple areas, with her mom on Terra around London. Which is the same rough Area Arkham has an apartment.
London is one of the main Alliance recruiting & education centers and a lot of Union and Alliance Departments/Facilities are located in the English region. As a politician "the ice queen" has a small house and some security around for her small garden. Since the biggest parts of west London are drowned in the northern sea and the city "moved" land inside it doesn't look like anything you would find today. London has long sandy beaches and palm trees, toxic water and the fog that doesn't want to leave at all, some city centers buildings look like being ripped from New York but that's a very few, unlike Vegas or New York no one ever tried to establish a second level to the city. Which kept it at least nicely livable.
