I enjoyed @gedeonm’s pixel art style yesterday so much, I took it as a lesson and used the style to draw a classroom!
As a final toot in this #Inktober #Inktober2025 thread, I’ll say that while I started out thinking my skill was no better than last year, not to boast but I can absolutely see that I’ve improved a lot.
I may not ever really be able to draw from something I envision in my head and might always have to look at source material as I draw. But I stuck to my decision this year to not trace anything whatsoever.
Only one or two of my drawings I feel meh about. REALLY happy with most. And FUN!

@gedeonm Before I started, I was really sweating how I was going to re-create that type, and was pretty happy that one of Linea’s typefaces wasn’t too far off.
Did I see somewhere Linea can use additional typefaces that I install, or am I dreaming?

@gedeonm I’m still finding sources to look at—I need something to look at. But I’m sticking to my decision to avoid direct tracing. Completely freehanding with the source image as a visual guide.
Love how this one turned out. Definitely my favorite of all—except for realizing I made one hand too big compared to the other! LOL
But yeah, I can feel my confidence growing!
