@hacks4pancakes @mwl I've reached an age where I'm working my last job. But I *talk* to the young people, and I read the news. I honestly don't think I could get a job in the current environment. It was bad enough when they'd scan your resume into a database, but only part of it. Now I have to hide a prompt injection to get past the AI.
Even my own company no longer allows the hiring manager to interview anyone. I'm highly qualified, and have friends on that project recommending me. No Joy.
I've been looking for the next opportunity for five years now, have 40+ years experience as an ICT professional, and obviously the bots have decided that I'm too old to be useful, never make it past the first gate.
It's disheartening to put it mildly.
Corporations: "we're using AI to filter out applicants who use AI to tailor their resume. Also we expect applicants to use AI to protect our customers against AI-fueled threats. Applicants must also use AI to be twice as productive as the laid-off employees they are replacing for half the wages.
We will be using AI to monitor productivity."
My theory is that the automation exists to weed out people with experience that the orgs do not want to pay a good salary to.
