I see so much gaslighting of people who are struggling to find jobs at junior and mid-level cybersecurity by folks who got their last job or first job before 2023. It's unreal and uncalled for. The market and the automation in the hiring processes have gone to hell. https://www.reddit.com/r/SecurityCareerAdvice/comments/1o1d3eb/i_am_an_underpaid_l1_soc_analyst_with_2_yoe_was/
@hacks4pancakes @mwl I've reached an age where I'm working my last job. But I *talk* to the young people, and I read the news. I honestly don't think I could get a job in the current environment. It was bad enough when they'd scan your resume into a database, but only part of it. Now I have to hide a prompt injection to get past the AI.
Even my own company no longer allows the hiring manager to interview anyone. I'm highly qualified, and have friends on that project recommending me. No Joy.
