"MET Police arrested and later de-arrested this gentleman after he pointed out his t-shirt supported Morph"
@rgarner UK Police in inability to read, comprehend or spell - honestly I'm not even shocked.
Especially as they arrested a gardener on his way back from his allotments, and during questioning didn't even know what an allotment was!

@robchapman Not jusk UK police…

Cops everywhere are complete, utter, reactionary and violent morons…

@rgarner

@devnull
i have to say that i actually think that policing from when I was younger to now has massively changed.
I know that UK Police are not getting the same level of training, I'll bet this is a similar story across the world.
The quality, training, and the actual suitability for holding the job is simply not there.

@rgarner

@robchapman I'm not convinced.

Where I was born, cops beat up and rob people since I was a kid. According to >60 years old people, that's nothing new.

And fucking anti-terrorist units don't give a fuck about killing hostages during raids…

And where I live now, cops have been racist fucks for decades, long before I was born they threw immigrants in river mocking them with racist slurs as they were drowning…

Noways they target and dox brown journalists, threaten them to death […]

@rgarner

@robchapman

[…] encourage other cops to assault them during protests, and beat and arrest people for being opposing climate denialism, colonialism, genocide and public services, public hospitals and healthcare defunding to give billions of public money to big corpo shareholders (who are gigantic tax fraudsters, to begin with)

Cops protect the super rich on purpose as they cause litteral deaths through tax fraud and the "centrist" reactionary right wing gov reward with public money…

@rgarner

@devnull
Fair enough, but that is my experience from growing up in the UK - where as you have yours.

Yes, there were Police back then who were thugs, but not all of them, where as now 99.9% are thugs and the other 0.1% won't be in the job long enough, because they job they applied for, doesn't exist anymore.

@rgarner

@robchapman I've spent most of my life in france where cops have a long history of killing immigrants during protests, and leftist unions

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1961_Paris_massacre

And keep doing of nowadays, just to lesser scale… While whining, with the far-right politicians and fascist billionaires owned media support, that "cops can't do their work" whenever someone asks for an investigation when cops kill.

Cops racism is systematic & they're always protected by their bosses. Victims families are

@rgarner

1961 Paris massacre - Wikipedia

@robchapman denied justice whenever it's about cops violence/murder commited by cops¹.

They're refused access to video footage and such. Sometimes evidence even "lost" from evidence storage (which obviously never happens en cases where the offender is not a cop…) and victims family lawyers learns that only a few years after (the prosecutor retains that information from them…)

@rgarner

@robchapman

The only difference in France nowadays, is that cops also assault, injure and kill middle class white people during protests against the gov pro-rich policy, which is also detrimental to middle class. Suddenly making cops violence news² worthy.

1. Which happends more and often since the last 10 years or so…
2. Still not by the big media owned by authoritarian bourgeoisie that litterally suggested "sending commandosā€œ against protesters, only some independent media outlets…

@rgarner

@robchapman

When antifascists peacefully broadcast a movie about dictatorship are raided and wounded by far right militia with knives screaming "Paris is nazi, Lyon as well", the racist far-right zombie, home affairs sinister³ ignores the attack for days then talks about… "stopping far-left violence"

3. Named by the pseudo-centrist party and is known for screaming "terrorism" all over the medias whenever a brown guy is involved in violent act before even the investigation starts

@rgarner

@devnull @robchapman @rgarner
I also live in France.
In the company of small children and elderly folk we were gassed. There was a support camp where the cops drove helicopters all night to make sure we didn't sleep.
The cops blocked the ambulance from attending a protester they had shot in the eye. He lost his eye.
They are scum.
@robchapman @devnull @rgarner it's telling about the part of the uk you grew up in,
If it was in the area the RUC were, who were so bad they got disbanded, you might think differently
@robchapman @devnull @rgarner
If you want to read the times, ask a policeman.
@robchapman @devnull @rgarner you might just be more aware of how oppressive police forces are given better access to stories from ppl who aren't like you, now?
In the US, cops have been murdering black people forever. It's a function that's part of their genesis, you can read about that.
And police have always been more about defending monied, landed people and their property from everyone else in the UK. Think in most of the world they're less about keeping peace and more keeping poors down.
@rgarner this is what they have to do in china. but, I'm in! Plasticine Action!
@rgarner Legenday IRL shitpost.
@rgarner Brilliant. You know what he means, but it's not breaking the stupid law!
@pa27 @rgarner POLITE notice -- please slow down...and think

@rgarner

This idea occurred to me last night, not having seen this story. How to test the literacy of the police at the same time!

@rgarner

this is the best way to counter the crooked UK govt and its abuse of power.

Let #LabourFriendsOfGenocide brand plasticine action a terrorist group

#PlasticineAction #PalestineAction

#FuckStarmer

@rgarner

I couldn't see the eleven posts that might have answered:

Why was he arrested?

@iclast @rgarner In summary, the Palestine Action group have been proscribed by the UK Government as a terrorist organisation, and as such expressing support for Palestine Action is an offence under the Terrorism Act.

This guy was amongst over 500 people arrested at the weekend during a protest where people were wearing shirts and waving placards with the words "Palestine Action", except in this case the police couldn't read and went off the shape of the words instead.

@iclast @rgarner
Even shorter explanation:

For wearing a shirt. Dude was literally arrested for wearing a shirt.

ā˜ ļø šŸ‡¬šŸ‡§ ā˜ ļø

@rgarner More lessons on reading for the Met🤩
@rgarner it’s a wonder they didn’t take the T-shirt off him as evidence, then ā€œloseā€ it , and subsequently have two plods up in court swearing the T shirt was terrorism related.

@rgarner

Nehatanju warnt, Tunnel unter kanzleramt.

Wenn es solchen gibt sind sie ehe von der Mossad.

@rgarner that story could only be bettered if the gentleman arrested was Tony Hart
@rgarner Police can’t read. Nice. Of course we should be the ones paying the price for it..
@rgarner oh, so where do we get Plasticine action t-shirts? Not only is that a good cause in itself, there's no way that the Met could prove you meant something else...
@rgarner The #MetPolice, it seems (or some of them, at any rate) struggle with #reading.
@rgarner Nobody sane is going to believe that the poet Alice Oswald is a terrorist, let alone 90 year old Quakers. Mrs Balls has made quite the Balls Up.
@rgarner
If everyone did this, the police would be overwhelmed. Please spread this! :)
@rgarner This made me actually laugh out loud. I love that t-shirt and thoroughly support the cause! #plasticineaction
@rgarner Sometimes when government makes a stupid policy error, then even more stupidly sticks to its guns, the best way to force change is to take the piss mercilessly.
@rgarner Any links to the T-Shirt? They are demanding my money!!
ā€œYou see that door marked pirate. You think a pirate lives in there?ā€ @rgarner
@rgarner So he didn't know at first?šŸ˜‚
@rgarner Don't know if this story is a joke or if the police were a joke, but there is a precedent. Some years ago, wise-ass young Chinese on social media were referring to Kim Jung Un as "Jin San Pang", which translates to "Kim Three Fat". The North Korean government got China to ban this term, but Mandarin has lots of homonyms, so the wise guys would make up phrases with different characters but that would be pronounced the same.
@rgarner ā€œAs long as it’s not forbidden speech, you’re free to go. Well, I mean, for a certain value of ā€˜free.ā€™ā€
