@kallisti @somebody If you think that's bad, a lot of American devices basically can't be. Sometimes someone may find an exploit, but generally speaking, if you buy any that were made for some like Verizon, you may have to count on it not even being possible even if it's a line that normally allows unlocking. The worst thing is, when buying any phone where such models exist online, you have to be very very careful, checking with the seller and a lot of online research to make sure to get one where a bootloader unlock is possible (especially tricky if buying new where it may still be sealed in a box.)
I've heard sometimes some can crack the key for a hefty fee, but this is hardly guaranteed and shockingly risky...
