The lemon drop chillies have officially moved into the community greenhouse — and they're thriving! 🌶️

But with the heat in there, the soil dries out super fast. To keep the moisture in, I mulched the ground with organic straw from a nearby community farm. 🌾

Fingers crossed it does the trick! 🤞

my fave #8 👍🏻🎉🌶️
@fullrange :) What's your number 1?
It is! I meant the spice category ;) first reaper this year 👹my seedlings have been eaten by spidermites 🤬so I have to buy a new strain next year

@fullrange Oh no, that's a pity. I wish you good luck for next year! My hottest chillies so far are my habaneros, which are doing wonderful. I managed to get them to hibernate.

I love cooking meals with chillies for my friends and at larger events. Unfortunately, only a few people around me like spicy food. That's why I've switched to less spicy ones, like Lemon Drop and Black Heart. I hope more people will enjoy my food this year.

PS: i found the trick against spidermites: cold brewed nicotine tea: put a cigarette into ~100ml of water, wait for 2 days and pour into the pot. DO NOT EVEN THINK OF BREWING HOT TEA AS EACH DROP IS DEADLY full drop protection clothing is necessary.
I am thinking hard what to do with my Carolina Reaper fruits because I could do a ton of spicy ketchup. Cheers!
