@DaveMason Eagle is thinking "I got my ass kicked by a badger once...I wonder if I can take this one."
Badger: "come at me mf"

@jhavok @DaveMason

EAGLE-WAN: It's over, Badgerkin. I have the moral high ground.

BADGERKIN: You underestimate my Shitpostability!

E1: Don't toot.

BK: Jedi Badger don't give AF! #yolo HYUNGH!

<gets sliced in twain>

E1: You were the Chosen One! It was said that you would, destroy the memes, not join them. It was you who would bring balance to the Fediverse, not leave it in Shitposts.

BK: I hate you!

E1: You were my brother, Badgerkin. I loved you. <blocked>

BK: arrrg!

@DaveMason that is an amazing moment and captured beautifully!
@DaveMason it's like a fable from Aesop. Nice catch & great shot!
@DaveMason the eagle is aiming to kill the badger and the badger knows it!
@DaveMason In terms of Scottish Golden Eagles and Scottish Badgers I honestly couldn't call a winner. I hope it ended without going nuclear.
@_thegeoff it was a moment of curiosity from what I witnessed. A brief glance shared between the two and the badger continued on its journey. It was settled in a very Canadian way. 🤣
@DaveMason I can't stop looking at this photo. Just so wonderful.
@nomdeb My once in a lifetime shot. Thanks 😁
@DaveMason This looks like it wants to be an animated movie about two unlikely friends saving a downtrodden segment of the animal population from certain death.
@courtcan quite possible. I’m glad you enjoyed it.
@DaveMason Such a tense moment. And you were in the right place at the right time 😍
@DaveMason Thank you for sharing. Such an intense look - or do we actually know..
@DaveMason wow! Those hills in the background are giving me southern AB? I hadn't thought you'd see a golden eagle there!
@Betty SW Alberta. That shit was west of Nanton. All types of eagles are spotted there. Bald, immature bald eagles & golden eagles. Along the foothills to Waterton National Park.
@DaveMason What a great scene and wonderful photo!
@gecole Thanks. That’s why I love storm chasing in the Alberta Foothills. Even if storms flop, I always come away with great secondary shots. 😁
@DaveMason What an amazing moment! So happy you and your camera were there.
@MiriShuli Thank you. I was out there storm chasing but the target area didn’t produce like it was supposed to. This shot made up for the disappointment! 😁

@DaveMason
I was scrolling, scrolling, scrolling through all the stuff. When I find a thing that makes me stop and ponder, I reach the end of my scrolling.

This perfect capture is one of these things.

I'm left wondering what the story was between these characters.

Thank you. 🙏 For your skill and being at the right place at the right time. This might be the most memorable photo I have ever seen.

@ShanonRose Only in Alberta! Thanks. That shot was west of Nanton.
@DaveMason
Nanton ❤️ Alberta is so special! Thanks for sharing this little slice of the province with us!
@DaveMason I was standing in my yard one day (I live in the Sierras) and a Bald Eagle landed about 15 feet in front of me. I talked to him/her for about five minutes and I guess the Eagle had enough and took off.
@DaveMason Who won?
@oheso badger blinked first and moved off seconds after the shot. The eagle remained waiting for signs of food.
