WE HAVE ALMOST SAVED GAMING.
Or have we? Can we still save it?

All it would have taken was a million signatures from EU citizens.

Don't we have a million gamers in the EU who are eligible to vote?

Here's probably the last update from #StopKillingGames :

@unfa i don't sign anything that requires gov id and/or personal location (unless i'm forced by law, like giving papers to gov insurance or voting)

@hacknorris @unfa

As one of my favourite youtubers likes to say

"You may not fuck with politics, but politics will fuck with you."

This isn't to get you to sign. It's just an observation on your situation. I would like it if you did sign though.

@Madagascar_Sky if it WILL NOT ask me for gov id i will. but it does

@hacknorris

Oh yeah, this is EU gov website, not some rando petition website. If you didn't know now you know. If this matters to you.

This is a gov website (the one hosting the petition to be heard in the EU Parliament).

@Madagascar_Sky yeah but still i don't feel good pasting "gov id" from /dev/urandom and yet worse with giving out original…
@hacknorris @Madagascar_Sky Well, using a gov't ID to interact with the EU government seems... appropriate? Also they need to verify if votes are legitimate, so if you provide a fake ID , your vote will not count - simple as that.
Otherwise, I could write a bot that submits 600 000 votes using random names and IDs - would you want EU to accept such votes for proposing law changes?
Then maybe this is a rare case of a good use for your gov't ID...
@unfa that's why i don't vote for that…

@hacknorris @unfa

Hey, so the petition guy had this to say about sensitive information -

https://youtu.be/3z4w_h2-UkM?t=3016

"All the information all your the information you're putting on there
the eu already has it and the eu has very strict guidelines on privacy. There
was even an article last year where the eu actually sued itself because of like some minor privacy breach that's so that's how seriously they take it. It's like saying "well i don't want the irs getting my social security number."

@Madagascar_Sky @unfa like i still didn't restricted my gov id so like i don't put it anywhere + i live with restrictive family so if something would happen it'd be my fault (1/2)
@Madagascar_Sky @unfa
+ i have literal 1984 at home and if they see a "petition" they think i'm against some corp and i will be sued sooner or later for doing that so if i'd ever open that i'd have argue in family that i'm gonna fight in court some corp and cause they DON'T KNOW english i have no way to prove them false (their polish, show me a post which will change their mind like on onet, wp, interia or so on, then okay…. (2/2)
@Madagascar_Sky enough a reason for you?

@hacknorris

Hey dude, I wasn't trying to pressure you into anything.

I was just trying to share with you what the project guy said because I thought you'd find it interesting. Because of what we had talked about.

I don't want you to get into trouble and I just want us all to have pleasant discussions.

I apologise if I was too harsh.

@hacknorris
You do know that you can sign electronically through a trusted src instead of providing your super duper secret PESEL, right? Come on, give it a try
(didn't see this thread until now)
@unfa
@MagicMoshroom still, bank account…

@hacknorris That's not what is technically sends when signing.

But just now I saw your other posts in this thread regarding your restrictive family (those are missing on the server I am writing from)... I know those kinds of people and wish you good luck with your situation. I won't push any further. Hope you get out of there soon

@MagicMoshroom i am with them 20 years already so i doubt i will get out of it…
