It is fascism, pure and evil. Willingly…
This morning I watched a video of my Senator being manhandled, pushed to the ground, and handcuffed by federal agents for having the temerity to ask a question.
Kind of hard to be like, "YAY the president didn't block my own tax dollars from funding research for a vaccine to stop taxpayers from dying by the millions"
Especially since our global web of CDC scientists has been integral to stopping dozens of pandemics over the past decades, and he decided to pull them from China just months before COVID broke out. Half the reason they were there, and so effective, was to prevent China from hiding stuff.

...and Abraham Accords were more of a "let's use economic leverage to push Arab countries to accept the dehumanization of Palestinians" while ripping up a strong, effective treaty that had brought Iran away from extremism.
The goal was always to destabilize, because fascists cannot comprehend or function in a stable world.
(Just adding context, understand you didn't mean these were profound moral accomplishments)

@roque @JuliusGoat Sorry, you don't get that hall pass, you vote for a fascist party, you are a fascist.
Project 2025 was publicly available, and a more or less direct, if dramatic more extreme, continuation of #GOP policy programs since the Reagan days.
#Trump did not really keep back about what he wanted to do to his enemies, and it was rather clear before the election, even to lay persons, that these were not legal, nor ethical plans.
He literally announced his plans to use the military
against his enemies, back then naming Democratic Members of Congress who he fight via the military.
Did I mention that concentration camp barbie (aka the DHS secretary) had a senator cuffed, dragged out of the room and forced to his knees because he presumedly planned to decry her lies to the press?
And most of the cool doings of the #Trumpregime have been announced before the election. So no, you do not get a free hall pass, because you are not adult enough to inform yourself before you cast
your vote. If you are too confused to understand the election, fine, stay home.
The #GOP literally flooded the media with smelly brown stuff, but mostly about "that woman". So if anyone might get a pass, that would be the confused Democratic voters that did fall for the astroturfed "but the genocide" campaign
(yeah, #Trump has not yet decided to whom to outsource the genocide of vermin still illegally occupying his really beautiful Middle Eastern Trump Riviera, but hey, #Harris was not willing to drop Israel, which would have her ousted even before the election.) That was a really big and beautiful Astroturf campaign.
So no pass to the guys and gals that voted for the fascists, which are now rounding and killing US citizens, they dislike, as they promised before the election.
@JuliusGoat
I assume you are speaking of the MAGA legislators and politicians primarily.
What is to be made of the average MAGA voter? Do you think your appraisal applies to them too, or is there room for ignorance to be their excuse?
I would consider it to be more "willful ignorance". If you line up a few ideas in front of someone, especially a rebellious person... and some of those things oppose the others.
That person is going to say, "I like these ideas, but I'm not going to waste my time nor pay attention to the rest".
It's a fair assessment. Certainly, they do/say a lot of evil things.
However, we have to be careful not to fall into the fundamental attribution error, and assume that they are inherently evil. More precisely, they are literally brainwashed into a cult. They're being overridden by their cult-self, whose moral compass points wherever Trump sets it.
It's a subtle difference, but I think it's important to recognize what we're dealing with, so we can counter it accordingly.
They are insane. Ignorance is a Feature.
Do not listen to insane people. Insanity is contagious. That is why they are in a cult, where they get positive reinforcement.
