Words matter. The Israeli military did not “intercept a ship and escort it to safety.” The Israeli military did commit a violent act of piracy against a UK flagged vessel in international waters as it fulfilled a legal right to reach Gaza and alleviate suffering, then abducted its crew and transported them by force to Israel under threat of execution.

Not a single corporate media outlet has had the courage or integrity to correctly label this horrific injustice. Legacy media has failed us all.

It is the behaviour that emboldens dictators. Without rubbing the hard truth in their face they will just take another step forward with their brutality. The ICC should be involved. Every single soldier involved should be identified and be charged. They can't hide behind 'I just followed orders' if it means they commit criminal acts.

@QasimRashid Israel is a failed experiment. This state should be repudiated by the UN. Other solutions have to be found to protect jews, fight antisemitism. But Israel has proven to be a wrong solution.

@FrancoisPrague @QasimRashid Israel as an "experiment". I didn't know this one. You think the other states appeared all of a sudden, out of nowhere, by a decision of mother nature ? I think the whole part about Israeli hostile policy towards Palestinians is enough, one certainly doesn't need to add some extra considerations about the very existence of Israel.

@QasimRashid honestly, I think you’re exaggerating a bit and this particular episode doesn’t warrant much attention. Way more important matters going on there, this was a tad embarrassing. Besides, there is no particular legal right to reach Gaza as it’s not an independent state.

You could argue the legalities of intercepting a boat outside territorial waters (but I believe inside economic exclusion zone), but any shock is a bit thin. We all know it was going to be intercepted.
