This late February article in The New Yorker briefly covers some of the same ground as the video above in terms of the Silicon Valley fascist influence in US politics, the close ties between the Trump regime and billionaire Yarvinites, and why rich tech nazis may see Trump's election as a vehicle to further their long-term efforts to establish private dictatorships by breaking the US administrative state and replacing it themselves. Techno-Fascism Comes to America

"For a time, digital platforms seemed to support democratic government as a kind of communal megaphone; but now, a decade later, technology seems to be supplanting the established authority of the government. “There is a crisis of the state,” McElroy said, and Silicon Valley may be “trying to corrode state power” in order to more quickly replace it.

Silicon Valley is premised on the idea that its founders and engineers know better than anyone else: they can do better at disseminating information, at designing an office, at developing satellites and advancing space travel. By the same logic, they must be able to govern better than politicians and federal employees. Voguish concepts in Silicon Valley such as seasteading and “network states” feature independent, self-contained societies running on tech principles. Efforts to create such entities have either failed or remained confined to the realm of brand-building, as in the startup Praxis, a hypothetical plan for a new tech-driven city on the Mediterranean. Under the new Trump White House, though, the U.S. government is being offered up as a guinea pig, McElroy said. “Now that we’ve got Musk running the state, I don’t know if they need their little offshore bubbles as much as they thought they did before.”

Given Elon Musk's position at the head of DOGE and thus his role as the de facto exchequer of what Trump considers his personal empire, but most still call the American government, I have no qualms with the way this article focuses on Elon as a representation of the creepy tech elites behind Downmarket Mussolini. In fact, the author's note that Musk's use of so-called AI to carry out the purges all of these nazis desire (for various reasons) might represent an opportunity to refine automated systems of repression and control for billionaire tech fascists looking to run their own neo-monarchal states in the future, probably goes a long way towards explaining why Musk in particular is so keen to run point on this whole project for Trump. After all, it's not a secret in tech circles that Musk has been looking for a way to become the leading figure in the "AI" industry, and what better way to do that than pioneering the use case for the "fascism machine" I've been telling you these rich nazis always meant "AI" to be?

I would however, caution against reading as much into the split between the tech-fascists (as represented by Musk) and the faux-populist MAGA movement (as represented by Steve Bannon) as Chayka does here. On a long enough timeline, it's possible that the billionaire tech-fascists, the Christian Nationalist right, the Bannonite "populists," and other patchwork constituencies that form the larger Trump movement may be torn apart by divergent priorities and ideas about who really runs Bartertown; but given that they all agree on methods of operation, and they're all pushing towards some type of fascist order, I think we're a long way away from irresolvable differences tearing Trumpism apart. Besides, the fact that it's Elon Musk standing next to Trump and waving around a chainsaw, not Steve Bannon, tells you all you need to know about who won that particular power struggle in the short term.

Frankly, I think the easiest way to understand the network of relationships, methods, and objectives of the various fascist power blocs in the movement behind Trump, is to imagine a minivan full of cartoonishly-evil nazis who're used to getting their way, all trying to control the activities of the driver, who may or may not be paying attention at any given moment. In this scenario the various groups of fascists vying for control of the vehicle Trump is driving are all on the same road, they all broadly agree on how to progress on their journey, but each of them intend to end up in different places by the time the drive is finished and they don't need the car anymore.

So last night I stumbled across this twenty-five minute interview with Guardian reporter Chris McGreal on Democracy Now!" Most of the conversation centers around the Musk family's longtime connections with Nazism (like literally the Third Reich) and neo-nazi movements, as well as how growing up in Apartheid South Africa shaped Elon Musk's worldview. Interestingly however, this is probably the first time I've ever seen anyone who works in corporate media mention that Peter Thiel, and David Sacks also have deep connections to apartheid societies in Africa. As you're likely aware, all three men have intimate connections with, and have financially supported, Trump and the larger fascist movement that's built around his cult of personality.

I'm sharing it here at least in part because McGreal is very firmly a mainstream media source, and until very recently this type of background information on the billionaire nazis ruining our society as we speak, really didn't get a lot of play in the mainstream media. This kind of critical background information wasn't necessarily a "secret," but corporate media has always been far too fawning towards tech billionaires to bring up "inconvenient truths" like the reality that the richest guy in the world, who is currently helping to enact a white nationalist agenda in America, comes from a family full of cracker nazis.

Edit: to be clear, I'm not saying that nobody ever rises above a reactionary upbringing here; I grew up in just such an environment myself and I think I've done a pretty good job of not turning out to be a nazi. If however, someone, let's just say a handful of the richest guys on earth, spends a lot of time promoting fascist, white supremacist ideology, and helping fascists and white supremacists win elections, and then directly influences policy decisions that affect entire countries (if not the world) in a way that promotes fascist, white supremacist hierarchies, the fact that they were raised in an Apartheid environment surrounded by people who love nazis, is probably relevant. For the past several years, I've been arguing with AI advocates about the purpose of the technology they're enamored with. I mean don't get me wrong, I'm aware that there are use cases for so-called AI programs that aren't inherently evil, but when you take a look at the nazi billionaires who're behind the projects to force widespread adoption, their long term plans to establish city-state dictatorships out of the hollowed out core of the nation-state era, and what these guys ultimately do with it, it's pretty clear AI is a fascism machine; just as much as IBM's punch card computers were a genocide machine for the Nazis. It doesn't have to be this way, but this is the way it is.

As such, I can't say I'm shocked that after Elon Musk bought himself a president, the first thing he started doing is using AI purge his political enemies as well as their ideas, sort surveillance data to identify targets for a white nationalist regime, and now spy on federal workers in search of those with insufficient loyalty to God Emperor Trump, the regime, and Musk himself.

"Reuters’ interviews with nearly 20 people with knowledge of DOGE’s operations – and an examination of hundreds of pages of court documents from lawsuits challenging DOGE's access to data – highlight its unorthodox usage of AI and other technology in federal government operations.

At the Environmental Protection Agency, for instance, some EPA managers were told by Trump appointees that Musk’s team is rolling out AI to monitor workers, including looking for language in communications considered hostile to Trump or Musk, the two people said.

The EPA, which enforces laws such as the Clean Air Act and works to protect the environment, has come under intense scrutiny by the Trump administration. Since January, it has put nearly 600 employees on leave and said it will eliminate 65% of its budget, which could require further staffing reductions.

Trump-appointed officials who had taken up EPA posts told managers that DOGE was using AI to monitor communication apps and software, including Microsoft Teams, which is widely used for virtual calls and chats, said the two sources familiar with these comments. “We have been told they are looking for anti-Trump or anti-Musk language,” a third source familiar with the EPA said. Naturally the regime and DOGE have denied that they're using AI to conduct "thought" policing inside the federal workforce, but I think given how readily the Trump administration has engaged in clear ideological warfare and suppression against its perceived political enemies, that denial sound a lot like a hollow lie. Speaking broadly however, I can't say I'm surprised at all that this is where a technology like AI and the billionaire nazis who're pushing it, have lead us as a society. There are a near infinite number of things "AI" technology is terrible at, but one thing it does really well is sort through the vast amounts of data and metadata collected as part of our already existing police state panopticon society; in fact, without automation we really wouldn't be able to sift through that amount of data at all with human eyes. AI doesn't have morals, it doesn't have humanity, it doesn't have any sense of what's right and wrong; it presumes the world it's programmed to presume, and engages in the tasks it's purposed to engage in - and billionaire nazi cultists who want to build their own technofeudalist dicatorships are the guys in charge of the coding and tasking of this technology. Whether it's picking out targets for extermination by the IDF during a genocide in Gaza, hunting down student protestors in vast seas of education and immigration data, or spying on federal workers for anti-Musk sentiments, the fact is fascist oppression and violence *can* be automated - particularly if you don't give a fuck about false positives because you're a soulless nazi murderbot.

I've made no secret of the fact that I think the nazi "broligarch" cultists who brought Trump to power, and support the creation of monarchal, technofeudalist city states under a variety of names (Network States, and Freedom Cities most prominently) are working on a larger, dystopian plan for literal authoritarian global domination; a plan that encompasses and revolves around the destruction of democratic structures, the implementation of digital fascist surveillance and repression via AI technology, the adoption of quasi-religious beliefs about our future as exemplified by the TESCREAL movement, and even the fascist plan to remake America into a type of dictatorship under Trump proposed by "neo-reactionary scholar" Curtis Yarvin, also known as The Butterfly Revolution. Taken together, the proponents of these ideas, who are often quite wealthy and influential people in our society and in particular the tech industry, have dubbed their ideology "Dark Enlightenment" which should give you at least some idea of both how obnoxious these rich fascists are, but also how far-reaching their plans ultimately go.

Furthermore, I am certain that this isn't just some weird conspiracy theory for three key reasons. First, the billionaire fascists have more or less told us their plans in the open. Secondly, since buying themselves a president, a small group of hyper-reactionary billionaires led by the world's richest nazi, Elon Musk, have more or less guided the Trump regime to act in countless ways that directly facilitate their obscene visions for the future of humanity.

Finally of course, there are quantifiable structural reasons why what these nazi cultist billionaires are proposing represents one of the only possible futures in which most of the planet maintains capitalism and free market fundamentalist ideology. After all, the planet is on fire, billions of people's lives are at stake if we don't act collectively to address climate crisis, and capitalism is the culprit causing both our impending destruction and our refusal to act; either capitalism and free market fundamentalism go to their graves, or billions of everyday people do, and these billionaire nazis know that. Folks aren't going to keep supporting a capitalist order that's killing them as the bodies pile up, so if you're going to keep doing capitalism for the benefit of an increasingly smaller ruling class, even as it leads to genocides all around us, you're going to need a political system that provides the necessary degree of surveillance, repression, and applied force to maintain control even as society disintegrates in real time - and that political system is going to look a lot like fascism, no matter what they choose to call it.

Despite their rhetoric about "the future" and their love of technology, the truth is the ideas and plans folks like Peter Thiel, Elon Musk, and Marc Andreessen (to name a few) are proposing to accomplish their goals, are old, decrepit, and often utterly disproven. As a species, we have already learned the horrible outcomes of adopting repugnant ideas like eugenics, feudalism, and fascism as enforced policy; and yet here today these ideas are being repackaged and renamed as the only hope for our future, by a billionaire nazi ruling class determined to rewind our society into the darkest days of our collective past. Down that road leads subjugation, violence, and death; which is probably why it appeals to rich nazis who value "artificial minds" (and labor) over human beings, and are preparing for a world where billions of people are "surplus" to their requirements as techno-feudalist overlords.

The Tactics Elon Musk Uses to Manage His ‘Legion’ of Babies—and Their Mothers

"Musk has warned that “civilization is going to crumble” if people don’t start having more children, a view popularized as pronatalism in right-wing circles. The pronatalism movement is composed of people concerned about the birthrate and eager to implement policy and cultural solutions to the problem.

Martin Varsavsky, a friend of Musk’s who founded a large chain of in vitro fertilization clinics in the U.S., said he has spoken with Musk about the risks of falling birthrates.

“Without babies there’s no future, every problem becomes secondary to the problem of not having people on the planet,” said Varsavsky. “Elon believes that a country is not the geography, a country is the people.”

Speaking to an audience at an investment conference in Saudi Arabia last year, Musk laid out the urgency of the matter. “I think for most countries, they should view the birthrate as the single biggest problem they need to solve. If you don’t make new humans, there’s no humanity, and all the policies in the world don’t matter,” Musk told the crowd over a live video.

When the interviewer joked that Musk was doing his part to address the issue, the billionaire agreed. “Yes. I am. I mean, you know, you’ve got to walk the talk. So, I do have a lot of kids, and I encourage others to have lots of kids.”

Separately, Musk has said he is concerned about what he called Third World countries having higher birthrates than the U.S. and Europe, a person familiar with the conversation said.

One of the most important ways to change these dynamics, he has repeatedly told people close to him, is for educated people to have more children."

Look, if you want to read the salacious details about what a domineering, misogynist supervillain freak Musk is to the women he convinces to have his children, I promise not to rat you out; if nothing else it speaks to the core patriarchal, reactionary, delusional sci-fi obsessive values by which the richest man in the world leads his extremely divorced life. Laughing at Musk is so much fun it would be our national sport if we weren't in the middle of a fascist takeover in America.

What interests me however is Musk's open articulation of the white supremacist, eugenicist, "race war" ideology that seemingly influences his decisions. Folks, I've had the misfortune of encountering a fair number of nazis and assorted other kinds of fascists in my life, and I can say without question that the freaks who obsess over racialized birth rates and raw demographics are by far the worst human beings, and some of the most dangerous of these odious shitlords. When a billionaire nazi who grew up under the apartheid system in South Africa starts talking about higher birthrates in "the Third World" and the need for "educated people" to have more babies, it doesn't take a psychic to realize that he's really talking about a perceived fascist need for white people to literally out breed non-white people as part of some implied racialized struggle for "the future of human civilization." He can dress it up with nonsense about going to Mars and preserving "civilization" and the human race, but it's very clear what "civilization" he's hoping to save, and what kind of humans he's hoping to "preserve" here; this is bog standard nazi shit.

All of which brings us to Musk's role as the head of the fascist Department of Government Efficiency and what Elon's beliefs can tell us about his actions in that role. DOGE hasn't touched the imperialist military, the police state, or government subsidies for corporations and the fossil fuel industry. Instead, under Musk's leadership DOGE has targeted global health programs, famine reduction efforts, and now has its eyes set on anything that helps America's poor; who I shouldn't have to remind you, are a segment of society where nonwhite people are overrepresented due to our long history of white supremacist capitalist and theft of generational wealth. Maybe the reason Elon Musk doesn't mind killing poor, mostly brown people is because he's a nazi freak who thinks we're in the middle of a race war to survive the apocalypse? And just maybe, that's news worth reporting to an American public being gutted by his department's "efficiency" cuts as we speak.

The Big Idea: Will Sci-Fi End Up Destroying the World?

"We can see this most clearly in the way the dystopian settings of so much cyberpunk fiction are seen by today’s tech leaders as prophetic visions of a world they need to try to escape – whether by colonising Mars, building metaverses or, in the case of Vance’s billionaire patron Peter Thiel, backing efforts to create new city states by buying land in developing countries. In the original novels it tended to be people like them responsible for creating the dystopias in the first place, but they’ve somehow projected the blame on to the masses.

In Snow Crash there’s something called “the Raft” – a collection of boats filled with infected, mind-controlled refugees headed for America’s west coast. It’s an image that recalls the viciously racist 1973 French sci-fi novel The Camp of the Saints by Jean Raspail, in which a huge fleet of Indian refugees destroy western civilisation. It’s had a far-right fandom ever since and has been referenced by former Donald Trump campaign manager Steve Bannon. It’s a particular favourite of Stephen Miller, Trump’s lead policy adviser and close friend of Musk (Miller’s wife, Katie, is the Doge spokeswoman).

It’s not much of a jump to see the actions of Thiel and Musk, and many of those around them, as an attempt to forestall this fate, linking, as they do, the racial obsessions of the far right with their odd brand of tech-utopianism. When Thiel writes that “I no longer believe freedom and democracy are compatible”, or when Musk makes up wild stories about the Democrats using benefit fraud to import migrants, they are unabashedly expressing this fear of being overrun. The greatest irony of all is that in their desperation to build escape routes, they risk creating the very dystopias they fear."

To answer our question above, yes society did ignore the warning signs that these TechBro billionaires were reactionary freaks with terrible ideas and increasingly, enough money power to try and make those ideas a reality; but not necessarily for the reasons the author implies in this article. I think at this point it's pretty uncontroversial to say that guys like Elon Musk, Peter Thiel, and even Jeff Bezos are deeply unserious thinkers whose wealth allows them to surround themselves with actual scientists, engineers, and inventors who can turn their pulp fiction fantasies into reality; so it's not really a surprise that these rich dilettante get their ideas from mass market sci-fi novels. What I think is far more instructional however, is to look at *which* science fiction ideas these folks gravitate towards; specifically the hyper-capitalist, racist, fascist, and authoritarian ideas commonly found in the sci-fi novels they grew up with.

I'm not a psychic of course, but I don't think it's an accident that billionaire TechBros who buy whole governments and seem intent on installing a technologically-enhanced form of fascism in America, gravitate towards stories and ideas about power, superiority, and the apocalypse that many critics have rightfully described as fascist in nature; nor do I think its a coincidence that these would-be "Masters of the Universe" have that in common with fascist propagandists like Curtis Yarvin, or even the Trump regime that Musk has bought outright control of. When you factor in that almost all of these same people are also interested in things like eugenics, neo-fascist corporate dictatorships, and racialized birth rates on a global scale, it becomes pretty clear that the origin story here is about powerful people looking for ideas that support their reactionary, supremacist, authoritarian beliefs; not a fascination with literary fiction.

In the end, I think that's the handle many people are missing when they're trying to understand the so-called "Dark Enlightenment." These folks don't believe in fascist ideology because they think they're right; these rich bastards are folks who have been presented with the problem of how to maintain their wealth and power on a boiling planet, even as the capitalism that grants them everything is going to kill billions, and fascist ideas are the only way they can square that circle, so they're always on the lookout for more of them. Sci-Fi stories aren't going to destroy the world; but the fascism that was so easily hidden inside many of them just might.

Over the past eight or so years, I've been asked on numerous occasions how I could be so certain that Trumpworld and the right wing authoritarian tech billionaires that are funding the movement were literally fascists. The simple answer to that question is because I know where the ideas that motivate them and animate their movement come from. As openly fascistic as the Trump regime's exercise of power has been so far, if you peel back a single layer to look at the people providing the ideological framework for those activities, you almost always find literal nazis.

Take for example the Trump regime's frequently self-identified "war on woke." On its face, the collection of policies and activities used to wage the "war on woke" so far have been fundamentally Christian Nationalist, white supremacist, patriarchal, and eliminationist in nature. If however you peel back the top surface of this "war" you find three major ideological propagandists driving the entire agenda: specifically Peter Boghossian, Christopher Rufo, and Richard Hanania; whose frankly odious ideas have had a huge influence on the Republican Party, and the Trump administration. These three have waged a war on higher education, diversity, and the very concept of racial or gender equality, that is expressly endorsed by most of the same far right billionaires who paid to make Trump president; including Marc Andressen, Peter Thiel, David Sacks, and Vivek Ramaswamy. So what happens if you peel back another layer of this fascist onion to find out who is funding and promoting guys like Hanania, Rufo, and Boghossian? You find a rich cracker tech bro, and a eugenicist running a recently rebranded foundation that supports white supremacists, promotes scientific racism, and was literally founded by Nazis. Unfortunately this article is a long read, and it's easy to get bogged down in the idea that the problem here is the "ancient" history of the Human Diversity Foundation/Pioneer Diveristy fund, but if you keep reading the author is very clear that the politics and priorities of the foundation, haven't changed much in the modern era.

"But last year, Hope Not Hate revealed that a network of white supremacist activists was secretly rehabilitating the Pioneer Fund under the new Human Diversity Foundation brand identity.

The aim has been to normalise the Pioneer Fund’s Nazi-aligned scientific racism in the mainstream through the notion of open debate and ‘free’ inquiry. Scientific racism has been rebranded as the story of ‘human biodiversity’.

The key funder supporting this initiative was revealed to be American technology entrepreneur Andrew Conru, who donated $1.3 million to the HDF. Around the same time, Conru was also funding the most influential conservative voices attacking DEI and ‘critical race theory’ – Christopher Rufo, Peter Boghossian, and Richard Hanania.

HDF’s magazine, Aporia, was founded by British far-right activist Matthew Frost. Conru’s donation provided him with a 15% stake in the group. It has defended Richard Lynn’s pseudoscientific racism, published an interview with Nazi sympathiser Jared Taylor, and in 2024 claimed that racial stereotypes are “reasonably accurate”.

Hope Not Hate’s undercover reporting recorded far-right activists associated with the HDF calling for “remigration” – the ‘mass removal of ethnic minorities’.

Kirkegaard is the long-time editor of the Pioneer Fund-backed eugenics journal Mankind Quarterly, a founding board member of which was Nazi eugenicist Otmar von Verscheur – who taught and mentored Josef Mengele, the notorious Nazi SS officer known as the ‘Angel of Death’ for performing medical experiments at Auschwitz.

In 2023, both Kirkegaard and Frost attended a notorious neo-Nazi gathering known as the “Scandza Forum” in Estonia, hosted by Scandinavian neo-Nazi Fróði Midjord. The conference was that year renamed ‘Guide to Kulchur’ after a book by Nazi sympathiser and Holocaust supporter Ezra Pound.

Kirkegaard inherited the assets of the Pioneer Fund from its former long-time president Richard Lynn before he died in July 2023."

Because my understanding of the billionaire nazi plot to install fascism in the Pig Empire originated through my studies of climate crisis, money in politics, and the funding behind fascist movements in the Pig Empire, my focus in writing about the fascist broligarch global takeover is on the material actions these rich freaks take to bring about the future they desire; more or less against the collective will of the human species. As I began to dig deeper into the subject however, reading the work of analysts like Émile P. Torres, Timnit Gebru, Gil Duran, and Douglas Rushkoff, I came to realize that many rich fascists, particularly at the center of the broligarch counterrevolutionary alliance in Silicon Valley, were also essentially in an emerging anti-human death cult. I know a lot of scholars, myself included, will metaphorically compare all fascist movements, which are dependent on an ever-shrinking circle of "us," and and ever widening circle of "them" to function, to a death cult due to the corrosive, ouroboros-like effect this has on fascist societies and the body counts they produce over time, but that description is still ultimately a metaphor. When I say Silicon Valley billionaire nazis who have bought our political systems are in an apocalyptic, anti-human death cult I'm speaking quite literally here; the billionaires trying to push this quasi-religious ideology used to promote it as "effective altruism" and "longtermism," some folks call it "the mindset," Torres and Gebru describe is as TESCREALism, but regardless of what you call it, its sure looks like a fascist cult for billionaire edgelord nazis to me.

Is it important to understand what fascist broligarchs like Elon Musk, Sam Altman, Peter Thiel, and the rest of the Yarvinate tech-fascist billionaires believe? In my opinion, not really; why they do the fascist shit they do to achieve their long term objectives isn't as important to understand as what those objectives are and by what methodology they're trying to achieve them. Unfortunately however the activities of a billionaire ruling class dominated by tech fascists who intend to run the human species off the ecological cliff to preserve their wealth and power on a boiling planet, are often so horrible that many people *need* to understand the belief structure that allows this genocidal behavior, in order to simply rationalize and accept what is happening around us. For whatever reason, it is not enough for them to hear "well they're nazis, and this is what nazis do" or "either capitalism goes or a planet that can support 8 billion people does; the billionaires are picking capitalism" and so for those folks I'd like to share this Torres piece that examines the belief structure of this anti-humanist death cult, through the lens of Rushkoff's analysis of "the mindset."

"The central claim of my argument so far is that Silicon Valley is gripped by a descriptive eschatology: the belief that our future will be digital rather than biological, and that this is inevitable in the coming decades — whether we like it or not. Just about everyone in the Valley believes this because, it seems, nearly everyone accepts by default a “techno-deterministic” view according to which scientific and technological “progress” is a juggernaut that simply cannot be stopped. What’s even more frightening is that many people in Silicon Valley accept the additional normative claim that we should try to bring about a new world of digital beings to supplant this current one. It’s not just Page who says this would be desirable. The “revolt against humanity,” to quote the literary critic Adam Kirsch, is rapidly growing within the tech world."

Yeah, I wasn't ready to hear that some of the richest, most powerful nazis in the world literally believe AI will create god, and humanity has no value except in however the species can assist in creating that god, either. The amazing part is this is only one aspect of the TESCREAL rabbit hole; rich fascists believe a whole bunch of other weird supervillain shit too.

Do all the billionaires believe this? Probably not; but many of the richest most politically-active among them at least appear to. Ultimately I think the difference between belief and motivation for Silicon Valley nazis doesn't exist; whether they believe these things to justify their actions, or act according to these beliefs is unknowable, and largely irrelevant as far as I can tell. The point here is they're preparing for the apocalypse they themselves are creating, and they regard the rest of humanity as surplus to their requirements.

Do you remember that shadowy network of white supremacist "race science" and eugenics revivalists running a rebranded Pioneer Fund that we talked about being behind the ideologues fueling Trump's "War on Woke" back in late April? Well noted "enlightened centrist" dipshit intellectual Steven Pinker just turned up on a podcast for the (now renamed to) Human Diversity Foundation's magazine Aporia, and to the surprise of no one who has been paying attention to Pinker's career for any length of time, cited Douglas Murray and helped normalize garbage pro-"scientific racism" propaganda.

"During the podcast, Pinker expressed agreement with claims made by Charles Murray, the author of The Bell Curve, a prominent figure in the “human biodiversity” movement that seeks to promote race-based theories of intelligence, and like Pinker a one-time participant in a human biodiversity email list convened by Steve Sailer.

When Carl cited “evidence collected by sociologists like Charles Murray suggesting that part of the family breakdown in some communities in America seems to be attributable to the state taking over the traditional function of the father”, Pinker responded: “I think that is a problem.” He added: “It is a huge class-differentiated phenomenon, as Murray and others write it out.”

Reporting last October in the Guardian revealed that Aporia operates within a broader network of groups and individuals seeking to mainstream racial pseudoscience.

The initiative had been secretly funded by US tech entrepreneur Andrew Conru until he was contacted for comment on the reporting, and Aporia’s editors are connected to far-right extremists, including Erik Ahrens, whom German authorities have designated a “rightwing extremist” posing an “extremely high” danger.

The investigation also found that Aporia was owned by the Human Diversity Foundation, a Wyoming LLC founded in 2022 by Emil Kirkegaard, a Danish self-described eugenicist and race scientist who has spent years attempting to access genetic datasets, and maintaining publishing platforms including OpenPsych and Mankind Quarterly that serve a network of race-science researchers."

As one of Pinker's many longtime critics in left wing discourse, part of the reason I'm sharing this story is a giant middle finger to all the "Very Serious People TM" in our society who kept insisting it was unreasonable to say that vapid fraud was promoting a foundationally colonialist, white supremacist view of society, human development, and the world at large; we told you folks he was basically Niall Ferguson for "centrists" and this is absolutely where Pinker's career was always headed. Yet another celebrity intellectual who barfs up platitudes about the status quo that affluent white Americans love, turns out to be not just "asking questions" but the full blown cracker supremacist scholars on the left warned you he was. Maybe the gatekeepers of our larger discourse should stop showering praise on folks who kiss the ruling class's asses if they also think Charles Murray had some valid ideas worth exploring? Who can say.

The other reason I'm sharing this story however, is that The Guardian, one of the few outlets who actually covered the international network of race science activists behind the Human Diversity Foundation and the US techbro nazi who was funding the project at the time, is kind of minimizing how odious and career-ending what Pinker just did should be. Formerly named the Pioneer fund, the organization behind this podcast was originally founded to spread Nazi ideology in America for the actual Third Reich, and the folks running it now are literally hardcore neo-nazis and white supremacists who actively promote bunk "race science," eugenicist ideology, and argue for the mass expulsion of nonwhite people from the Imperial Core. This isn't like the dumber Cuomo brother having Steve Bannon on his show to disseminate Trump's lies, this is a lot more like letting Andrew Anglin interview you for a Daily Stormer podcast. In a Pig Empire that wasn't already drunk on fascist ideology, this should absolutely be career-ending for Steven Pinker; whether it will be in the really real world we live in where lots of nazis are still welcome and celebrated in our public discourse, is a lot harder to predict.
