I'm in this toot and I don't like it.

One of the favorite scenes from one of my favorite movies (1999) Office Space.
@nixCraft Head pops up from behind a giant mess of parts that spans the whole flat and starts to feature several archeological strata:
- What do you mean "know how to fix the printer"?
(I am in the "just one more solenoid swap and then I swear i am sure it's going to work" camp)
2 or 3D?
I have a little knowledge in fixing printer problems. The knowledge for 3D printers is way bigger. But I also use them more often.
I tend to ignore the errors after 1 or 2 attempts just to not destroy the printer in anger.
@nixCraft one thing I do not blame the manufacturers for, is driver problems on Windows. The print spooler can lock drivers which messes up driver updates where you can get half updated systems if the installer isn't written by a paranoid dev.
So if you need to update a printer driver, always stop the spooler service.
Salesman colleague of mine, years ago, slow day, tidying up some old equipment. โIโve got thisโ he announces, bravely lifting a laser printer over his head and manoeuvring it into an attic space above him.
Apparently the toner cartridge wasnโt sealed. A veritable torrent of thick black powder flowed down the front of his neat white shirt and his suit trousers.
I alerted him to this fact, eventually.
Printer problems.
@nixCraft Depends on the printer. HP used to be good, but many of you weren't even born in those days - I finally gave up repairing my HP from those days almost 10 years ago, the brother I replaced it with just works.
Though I often just send things to a local print shop, which avoids a lot of pain.
