@nixCraft one thing I do not blame the manufacturers for, is driver problems on Windows. The print spooler can lock drivers which messes up driver updates where you can get half updated systems if the installer isn't written by a paranoid dev.

So if you need to update a printer driver, always stop the spooler service.
